Return to Haversmeet pt. 2 Report
General Summary
The Scions meet Sibohan the Smith, who tells the party that Vincenzo recently purchased a bunch of equipment for excavating some Eladrin ruins that were discovered outside of town. She also mentions that she's been selling a lot of silvered weapons, seems like the locals are worried about undead for some reason. Owen, the owner of the Thirsty Grizzly, tells the party that Yuan often works as a waitress but he hasn't seen her in a few days. Last he heard she was investigating the ruins of Pelor's temple to see if she could figure out where the undead are coming from. The Scions then took a glass of Sibohan's favorite ale and prepared a sumptuous feast, preparing themselves for the upcoming investigation. As the part approached the temple ruins they could still see the scorches from Trogdor's attacks. They also notice the tent city which has sprung up around the ruined temple is eerily quiet and seemingly abandoned. The Scions find discarded imperial weapons, their pointy ends covered in acid. They also notice a terrible stench coming from inside the church ruins. Inside the ruins the Scions find about a dozen corpses on the floor, along with a giant mound of corpses on the dais. They notice the corpses on the ground moving and managed to avoid being surprised by the undead. The pile of corpses on the dais comes to life and becomes a putrid, shambling mound of limbs. The scions are joined by a half-orc dressed in black robes, who identifies himself as Junjie Thunderfist, as well as two of his students. The three of them are clearly outmatched by the undead in the ruins, and they throw themselves recklessly into their attacks. Anton notices they rely heavily on the Lightning and Fire dragon aspects of the four elements, which strikes hard and fast but leaves all three of them open to counterattacks. The Scions manage to destroy the corpse mound before it can cause and severe damage, although one of the students is severely wounded in the fighting. Anton scolds Junjie for his recklessness, which seems to only antagonize the half-orc. Junjie tells Anton that the four elements are the only ones seriously investigating what's going on with the undead, and that whatever is happening is truly bizzare, way worse than what they've normally encountered. Junjie also tells the party that Yuan is most likely at their hidden base on an abandoned farm several hours outside town. He tells Anton to turn the windmill twice when gets to the front of the barn, and then disappears, along with his students, back into the shadows.
