Grand Archivist H'laan
Grand Archivist H'laan is a powerful mage in the service of Nox, goddess of knowledge and history. He seeks to maintain the balance between the known and unknown, and is responsible for guiding guiding mortals toward only so much knowledge as Nox has deemed they need. H'laan is a kind and caring old man, and takes personal responsibility for the overstepping of mortals in their pursuit of information.

A group of college students from Colorado are transported into the bodies of their D&D characters, and must survive in the harsh environments of Carcosa. The crew has to brave pirate-infested waters, skeleton-laden ruins, and ancient horrors from the depths in order to one day return home.
