Session 96: The Stabby get a Potential Shock Report

General Summary

Fleec makes his way back to Eschbach, tidying himself up and dropping off a few bits & pieces in his lair. Whewn done he hopped on the horse and headed out of town by the southeast grove toards the edge of the Valley of the Black Ones.   Nearing the night he arrived on the building at the edge of the valley. Going in, he finds that a trade group of salt sellers talking to a Black Elf lady called Agnis.   After she concluded the business with them Fleec approaches and asks about getting materials for toxins. Agnis explains about the Spider Queen Lair, and that there is still elements of spiders there that could be exploited. She told that he could do business bringing some of the materials back and she can hopefully get a few bits & pieces for him in exchange.   Supplied with specified boxes & bags that are toughened, Fleec set out. Arriving in the early afternoon, he set out into the Black Forest noticing how dense it is, and the old path created by the previous adventuring party. Getting there he still had plenty of time to get in & out.   Going in through the open tunnel, he made his way up killing a large spide on the way up to stop it following. He eventually arrived in the egg chamber where the eggs had been destroyed, and the creature that was there.   Crossing over he made his way down into the throne chamber and found the remains of the throne & the Spider Queen. Being there he notices a slight tear in the centre of the seat. Reaching in, he managed to pull out a head-sized egg with a pearl-like covering. Placing it safely in a bag, he travelled down the opposing tunnel that appears to be a tall long egg chanber where he removed a few clumps of eggs while leaving some. Arriving at the bottom, there is a sphincter-like door that needs a nodule to one side to open.   Opening it, he found a huge spider behind that is awakening that acts as a guardian for this egg chamber and something that the Queen could have called. Quickly shooting it, and stabbing behind the head, he milked the poison sacs, lifing a few special eggs of the same species and leaving four smaller spiders of the same kind in the walls that appear in suspended animation.   Going to the back, he found a twisting tunnel going up at a steep angle, and ending in a closed off room with groups of spider species held in suspended animation. All spilt into specific species, he lifted a few out of different groups keeping many still there to maybe pillage later when needed.   Noticing that the spider silk holding these, there seems to be something maybe magical or even bioengineered into it. This keeps the spiders & eggs in the suspended animation.   Making his way out after this he made it back to the Valley on time to talk to Agnis. He managed to swap half the spiders & the eggs to her for the same weight in poisonous mushrooms / fungus. This can be crushed down into a paste or ate depending how he wants to use it.   Agnis refused to take the unique egg but said that would be worth 500 gold or more to right collector. This could be any type but may be of worth to an apothecary, healer or other group. She feels that it is somehow tied directly to the Spider Queen directly, and worries that it might be related (literally) to her.   After spending the night, Fleec left for Eschbach, and when going to his lair, sees a market stall and realises it is the same group as in Orleans. Run by Jean-luc, Fleec is able to sell the remaining spiders & eggs for 20 vials of toxin, and 5 two-use anti-toxins vials. He is also able to sell the unique egg for nearly 6 months worth of toxins & anti-toxins. If he runs out he just needs to return to the apothicaries within that perid. With that time they'll be breeding more spiders to gather more toxins.
