Session 15: Getting Back to Big Bushes Report

General Summary

Grimmaz (and his present sidekick Kulug Jocki) has entered the Black Forest, and found a path going north> On it they found a wagon that had been pushed off the road, with the horses & operators missing. Paw prints are all around, and some appeared larger. The wagon had been pushed off the road. There's animal tracks etc heading deeper into the forest. It looks like they were attacked.   These are followed and a marshy area with the ruins of a hut in the middle, and the remnants of the two operators, and horses are found here. A stony floor has a part jutting out of it that can be turned with a pointer on it. One side has a carving of two moons, and the other is two suns. Grimmaz turns this to the suns and can hear howling in the forest. There is some type of writing there, and Kulug calls it evil, something to do with the East, and that it looks like the Sylvan language written there.   They explore to the north east finding a drowned rotting body of a Saxon, and one by two paths hacked out of the woods to allow their passage. At this point they decided to camp out at the wagon as it was near night time. When back they found their own horses killed, and decided to get some sleep. In the morning they were confronted by some wolves who Grimmaz got to move creating dissonant noises on his flute, and animal handling. From there they took their stuff and managed to get past the snarling wolves and make it back to the swamp. There they found a large wolf in the ruins, and decided to skirt round the swampy area to use the bushes to protect their backs by relying on listening to sounds of anything flanking them. The wolf stood up on it's hind legs and started to change into its humanoid shape, revealing it was a werewolf.   It eventually charged them and was eventually cut down by Grimmaz delivering the death blow. Before dying the werewolf, said thank you, that he was cursed by the 'bitch of a hag' that has a lair below the ruins, and that to open it relied on 'In the Darkness'. This left Grimmaz puzzled. Now they have the choice of leaving, working out to get into the lair, or exploring the forest further to make sure there's no further werewolf/wolf/Saxon threats.
