Session 29: Slipped a Sly Dagger Report

General Summary

29th Misuthar 836PD   Norgin Deg gives the lead of the Sly Dagger when asked and when pressed (bribed), he mentioned that our quarry was not human, and considerably more dangerous than he first looks. He warns us to tread lightly and not to trifle with things that may be beyond us. Moving further into the Puddles, the team are set upon by assassins, firing from the rooftops and surprising the group. Theia and Ceonwulf at the fore get hit by a hail of arrows, before they scatter and Roderick charges a hooded figure at ground level. The battle shifts to a defensive one as Ceonwulf Misty Steps onto one roof and bears down on one archer and Ongar does the same for the other; meanwhile Roderick and a third assassin tussle and exchange blows in the alleyway below.   The two archers are pushed into a retreat before their assailants and the occasional assistive shot from Theia and AD-2000 below, until the one fending off blows from Ceonwulf turns and flees. He manages to evade a killing blow from the dwarf and scampers away from him down to ground level and around a corner, only to have his head taken clean off his shoulders by a waiting 2K's pistol shot. The other falls beneath a hail of attacks from Ongar and Gwen, succumbing to his wounds and nearly falling onto the fighting below.   Realising the odds were turning, bleeding from several wounds and becoming surrounded, the last assassin drops her weapons and declares her surrender.
