Session 13: Drak & Griselda Report

General Summary

En route to Rexxentrum, most of the group stop for the night at a wayside inn named the Lonely Pony. Ceonwulf decides to remain in a campground outdoors, and is soon joined by Gwen. A huge orc tavernkeep named Drak greets the four wayfarers and books rooms, food and drinks for them. He settles with the table and discusses his mercenary days as part of Sawtooth Band from Wildemount all the way to Vassalheim.   Further tales from the group are shared, with Roderick explaining what happened to his leg. Drak eventually mentions Griselda, his axe, displayed over the bar. After lengthy regaling of his exploits, he pulls it down off its display and hands it to Roderick and Jakuki to appreciate. It's adorned in runes and clearly seen much battle.   Meanwhile outside, Gwen teaches Ceonwulf how to hunt, gut and cook a rabbit. The night passes for them otherwise uneventfully and they awake to a dusting of snow. Drak (although unknown to them) waves from the distance as he passes them with a slain boar over a shoulder.   Breakfast is served, with Gwen and Ceonwulf making an appearance. After a brief discussion about Drak's late wife - he still wears a wedding band - Roderick offers a prayer to her grave before the band depart once more. The journey is slow, but they arrive in Rexxentrum with the setting sun.
