Session 8: Ice Tipping Report
General Summary
Folsen, Misuthar 11th. Winter, clear. Breakfast served, Roderick asks Kasia, Ivory and Jodak whether they can lie low somewhere away from the mill. They suggest the Tin Lion on the outskirts of Odessloe, and the group work on tidying up the basement and gathering the bodies into a wagon. As the trio leave, the dwarves describe torturing the prisoner with using underwear to gag. He's compliant and lets himself be rebound. They take a fairly seldom-travelled route to the lake, and dispose of the bodies of the bandits by cutting a hole in the frozen Erdeloch and resealing it once done. Returning towards the road, the cart gets stuck between trees, leaving scuffs and slowing down progress. Holley is put under the tarp inside the cart and they approach the city walls of Odessloe, where the unsubtle situation is queried by two gate guards called Phillips and Dunconar. Phillips recognises the group after Jakuki mentions the fight in the Tumbledowns a few nights prior and warms to the idea that the group are up to good. Upon arrival at Eastwatch and meeting Reseigh, turns out Holley is the leader of the Greyheart Bannermen and has a 200gp bounty on his head. After explaining the proceedings of the previous few days, Reseigh explains his reservations about the group taking on the Shilby family on their home turf, and that they have been at a détente with another local organisation, the Barnes. An idea is hatched to potentially pit the two families against one another rather than face off against the Shilbies directly. Both families have seemingly vying for position and prestige for the Myriad, and perhaps this is what the meeting at Jodak's mill was about. A prisoner in a local Crownsguard jail called George is a known Barnes family member. A reconnoitre of the warehouse in question is undertaken but the walk-past is not subtle. Ongar notes a magical ward on one of the main doors, and Roderick notes surprisingly well armed and armoured guards inside.
