Session 7: Battle in the Blizzard Report

General Summary

Ongar joins the battle, teleporting into the middle of the room. Jakuki dispatches a minion as Ceonwulf spars with the bandit leader, misses, gets stabbed back and goes down. Jakuki blocks the door, aided by Gwen   Theia, in panic, channels divine blessings into the dwarves and herself. Ongar freezes a bandit solid, who Roderick smashes to pieces. Gwen stabs a newcomer and Jakuki finishes him. Ceonwulf, healed by Roderick, stands up, taunts the captain and takes a further beating, grinning bloodily at his foe. The group wail on the captain who incapacitates Ceonwulf once more before rounding on the rest of the group, surrounded.   Jakuki shouts for him to surrender, and upon seeing Gwen's bow also aimed at his face, drops his weapons and surrenders. Fight over. Interrogating Holley, he gets cocky and talks in circles for a while. Theia realises he's stalling for time, and shouts for him to be bound as a scream erupts from above, in the mill. Kasia is in danger! One of the bandits has Kasia cornered at the top of the mill, and in crazed desperation is threatening to throw her to her death unless their leader is set free. Theia, poised below, beseeches him to let her go as her eyes begin to softly glow with an inner light. Her determination rises as the crook stamps on Kasia's fingers, dropping her to plummet to the ground below.   Theia reaches upwards, forming ethereal wings from her back as she takes flight, meeting Kasia's falling form part-way down. She catches her, hovering in the blizzard-filled air in front of the mill as the horrified man looks down on them. Theia gestures towards him, incinerating him with a Sacred Flame before gently lowering back down to the ground. She checks the shaken Kasia over before beckoning her and the other witnesses back inside.   Returning to the basement, wings still very much in evidence, Holley cracks and admits that the rest of Jodak's family are being held in a warehouse in Odessloe owned by the Shilby Corporation. He laughs and explains that the info won't help as the group won't be able to take on the thugs left inside.   The party move to get some rest and Roddie offers to stand guard over their prisoner. Jodak clearly wants to do him harm, and despite Roderick's best efforts ends up resorting to threatening him with repercussions and violence if he harms Holley. Roddie breaks Holley's jaw when he refuses to shut up during this argument. Jodak storms back upstairs, abandoning his intention to kill the bandits' leader. The rest of the night passes uneventfully, the storm outside blowing over by the morning.
