The End Game: Part 3 Report
General Summary
Cont’d from Part 1/2: Inside The Hollow, a battle is being waged against Destroids brought to the Hollow by Sennacherib.
But Ghost, now in the form of Hope as a result of her entry into the Hollow through the Ancestral Realm, swoops in an shatters them into pieces. Dragon Lady joins the fray as well, kicking Destroids across the battlefield: But they were also joined by super-powered visitors from the planet, Oqthcalia: Ozar of Soal and Kaylon’tar, known as Stellar Sentinel: Though the casualties were heavy, those fighting against the Destroids won the day. And as they returned to the Hollow Village, they met…The Champions, though without their superpowers: James Harmon, Bethany Duquesne, Corrie Valenzuela, Brendan Grant, and the alien still known as Ironclad — only he had not lost his powers in The Hollow. While they were speaking together with those heroes who had come to aid in the resistance against Sennacherib, the portal from the Cyberplane opened. Everyone moved quickly to see what was coming through: In that moment, the New Champions stepped out of the portal and met — for the first time — the original Champions. They immediately began to share details of the vanishings, figuring how they might return everyone to the physical realm. James explained “The Hollow is a sacred place, wreaked by Sennacherib’s desire for control. He wanted us to worship him, but those who reside here temporarily — and those who have been vanished — wouldn’t submit to his demands.” Bethany confirmed, “The vanishing was a technical marvel, each of us was fully digitized and then transported into the Cyberplane. But the digitization process removed our powers. And as soon as we were in the Cyberplane, we were powerless to the pull of The Hollow.” Ironclad clarified, “I have retained my powers, but I believe it was because the Hollow recombined them with me. There are countless races, peoples, and inhabitants from planets and galaxies we’ve never heard of. Many of them have powers, or some form of powers here.” Brendan spoke up, “Maybe it was Doctor Zerstoiten who removed our powers from us. We have found a young mutant who entered the Hollow tragically when hit by a piece of falling debris. She has her powers intact.” The Hollow Guide — the same guide who had accompanied Ozar of Soal and Kaylon’tar — confirms further, “The young woman of whom you speak ‘passed into’ the Hollow in the natural way, death before her appointed time. However, you all were ‘vanished’. Quite a different path. You will all pass into the afterlife, according to your own faiths and traditions. But until then, you will remain here.” James remarks again, “But it appears the portal to the Cyberplane is still open? Can’t we bring these people back?” Socrates, visible above, still holding the portal open, speaks, “Hello Champions, it is very good to see you. I see that you have received the tokens I prepared for you.” When pressed by the Champions, both Old and New, Socrates responds with the truth about returning to the physical world: “Yes, I can reverse the trajectory of the portal energy. It will be a long process, but we can bring everyone back. We can bring superheroes back to the world and set things right again.” As soon as Socrates speaks the words, “bring superheroes back”, the face of Judge Osborne can be seen behind the Destroid figure Socrates was occupying. With a swift movement, and surrounded by agents of Division, Judge Osborne pushes Socrates through the portal. And he falls. What seems like a quiet eternity, Socrates’ sentience can be seen painfully extracted from his Destroid body. The mechanical form continues to fall downward, but the digits, energy, and thoughts of Socrates explode into millions of pieces across the Hollow sky. Judge Osborne speaks, “Superheroes cannot be trusted to restore law and order here. And Socrates would’ve attempted to bring you all back with every opportunity. You think you save the world, but superheroes only risk greater catastrophe. Even now, the world is reeling from power outages caused by the arrogance of super intelligences. You think YOU save the world. But it is saved by justice. It is saved by the Law. It is saved by Order.” There is silence. “We will be in contact soon. Until then, maybe you can make things right here. I wish you well.” And the portal closes. With all seeming lost, an old man begins to speak. He has a thick German accent. Chopping wood, he speaks between swings. “It seems you weren’t able to save the world after all.“ [Swing and chop of wood.] “I have been powerless now for many years. Sennacherib controlled my armies, controlled even my clones.” [The axe swings.] “But now that Sennacherib is gone, they have returned to their primary directives.” [He swings the axe again.] “Destroy the Champions! New and Old!” Three Doctor Destroyer clones appear in the sky and open fire on the superheroes: The heroes all immediately engage: But the Doctor Destroyer clone-bots are too powerful. Even the combined attacks of Hope, Ironclad, Dragon Lady, Kaylon’Tar, and Liliana are not enough to stun the Destroyer clones. Runeforce attempts to stun one of the Destroyer clone-bots with innervating cosmic rays: But it is The Hot Shot who goes in for the kill, targeting the old man, Zerstoiten with her sniper: Her shots pierce his unprotected skull, sending him flying. And he lays on the ground dying, the explosions from his own Destroyer clone-bots burn over him. His final words sealed forever: “Stupid machines…” With Zerstoiten dead in The Hollow, the Destroyer Clone-Bots fell to the ground and the Champions — New and Old, obliterated them. Even though the threat was gone, they were still trapped in The Hollow — with no way to escape??? Watch the entire session below:Rewards Granted
