Twilight of the Dead Report

General Summary

Starting in the Witches Wood, north of Gairloch, the party meets a young abandoned girl. They decide to try to bring her back home and push off the recon mission. As they walk, the roar of some mechanical monster explodes around them and in their flight they follow the young girl into a hidden cavern under a tree. From their hiding place they saw a mechanical bull above them. In the darkness of the cave, the party stumbles into some Violet Fungi and Lemon Nelson happened to breathe in its spores and was knocked unconscious. While knocked out, Lemon saw Rock McCock standing above him, warding off Lemon's impending doom. During the confusion, the young girl slashes Rooster McRock in the back. At the time Celery, on her way to the bathroom, happened to hear the commotion under the tree and eventually she joined them in the tunnel. There she found Rooster and Lemon bleeding out and the young girl crying. Celery immediately revived Rooster, who immediately warns her that the girl is a monster. The girl then turns to flee and she attempts to trap them in the cave by filling the cavern. Rooster then assists Lemon. The trapped adventurers then decided to take a quick rest. They hastily made a fire and foraged some purple mushrooms to make a stew.   Once they finished their rest, Lemon smashes the debris that trapped them and they all surfaced. Upon reaching the surface they heard a loud cackling in the distance. The crow then comes to help and flies to attack the source of the cackling while saying "Wherefore I?!" Afterwards, the party decides to return to Gairloch by following the trail that Rooster previously set forward. On the way they come across a clearing populated with Elvish ruins. The party searches the ruins and clearing, discovering a shining rock that mimics the light of the moon, and several scrolls and tablets. Rooster and Lemon strained to translated the odd text and uncovered the words "escape" and "of the heavens". When they shined the light of the gem to the scroll a separate script appeared. They also found a painting (thats in the resources channel in the discord) that shone on the moonlight. They spent the night in the ruins and during the night the crow appeared to Celery and listened to her music. The next morning they continued their trek but Rooster quickly realized that they were lost. Celery climbed a tree to get a better view but she quickly finds out that she actually climbed a treant. The treant, after an entire day of thinking agreed to guide them out of the forest. Once out of the forest they spent the night at Lemon's house. The next morning the party is woken up by the passing of a carriage. They then followed the carriage to the Laird's castle. Approaching the carriage and the elvish footmen surrounding it, the party learns that it belongs to Baroness Vikra Kilani . They are given permission to enter by showing the glowing rock that they found in the ruins. Amazed the footman calls it Mirmenel and suggests they ask the Baroness more about it. Celery charmingly convinced the assistant of the Laird to grant them an audience with the baroness.   When the Baroness appears she eagerly takes the Mirmenel and the scrolls in exchange for 5 golden dragons. She also suggests that they visit her if they want more work.
