Session XXIV - The Taint of a Dragon Heart

General Summary

• After the parties encounter with Gregor Eser, they continued east. Bound for the Town of Dregsway. While they traveled they saw many odd faces. It ranged from people fleeing the war too soldiers marching to their deaths. However, they came across a sore-thumb sticking out amongst the crowd. A man, dressed in bright red robes holding a finely made quarterstaff, slowly approached the group. The party being cautious started to drive around the man, at which point he shouted to them for aid. Arethyn decided to help the old man, giving him help with local directions. The man then payed her quite handsomely in platinum pieces. After seeing that, Gareth rode over and offered him his steed for the next 48 hours, to help the man get to where he needed to be. The man agreed, only after noting down Gareth's name. Gareth was also payed quite well.
• Early into the night Laufter experienced a strong desire to see some kind of flame. He went invisible and pulled out a torch. In the flames the form of Malkizid appeared, bidding Laufter well. He informed him that the balde he carries, Orifice, has more locked away potential, and that a woman north-east of where they are now can help him. He also told him that he never received the soul of that powerful Hunter he killed some weeks ago.
• As the group rode through the night, the current ones on watch noticed a ridge up ahead, and a number of figured hunched over on the ridge edge over looking the road. The party readied for a fight, but as they passed nothing happened. They saw the figured look at them, but they seemed uneasy to interact with the party.
• The following morning the group rode past the Fort of Groth Point. The Elezians Nations main base on the southern war front. After that day of travel the group gave the horse's a rest and set up camp.
• The next day they travelled again, reaching Dregsway by dusk. When they arrived it was quiet. People were getting ready to sleep. They saw a defiled statue dedicated to a man named Levroln Ilkway. A hated war general by both sides, as he betrayed both Gareleth and Elezian. Now no one knows where he is, but the world despises him. When they asked around for Hilgron the vast, the people seemed uneasy. But they did tell hi where he lives.
• When the party entered, they saw the house heavily damaged and Hilgron's body pinned against the wall by great large vines piercing through him. Arethyn went to ask the local Elezian Guard what happened, while Nayr casted 'Speak with Dead'. Hilgrons dead form told him that he was attacked, and that the attacker stole the box. The box containing a Red Dragon Heart. The party used 'Locate Object' and found the item lied north of where they were. They met up with Arethyn and headed that way.
• To their surprise, they found a small camp which housed Melitha. The same druid who had helped them over throw the Heralded Blades nearly a month earlier. She was reluctant to tell them where the Heart was, but eventually gave in and said it was up the cliff side. Arethyn went to grab the item, but was met by a man actively digging it up. He said his name was Telor, and told her to back off. When she resisted he revealed fiendish red eyes. Arethyn got into a ight with the man and managed to fight him off quite well making him retreat. As she now has the box with the heart...
