Session 11: A step too far Report

General Summary

Session began with a conflict with the law. The party approached a scene where an avowed sage was being apprehended for contraband magic scrolls by a group of guards in black. The leader of this band kept his face obscured. The party diffused the situation with swift punches and non-damaging spells and dispatched the Inquisition's foot soldiers with no one being murdered and only a few being injured and saved the Avowed Sage named Boson who took Jorvik's Barlough Schoolbook and opted to return to Candlekeep.   The party decided to utilize Nomad-2's more unrelenting nature and traveled night and day using him as a veritable tree house, and arrived a day earlier to the King's Fjord and by extension the Western Gatehouse of Silverwells, where they went through customs at the cost of 5 silver and entered the city proper. Using Cedjic's owl based skills they quickly sorted out the location of the Wide in the western side of town and proceeded to buy some pastries from an older baker name Autumn.   Things went off the rails at this point, however as Nomad-2 Insisted that the books all be stabbed in order to verify which are Gingwatzims and which are real books. Cedjic in an attempt to deflect Nomad-2 Planted a dangerous thought in Nomad's head that the Baker Autumn was infact also a Gingwatzim or another world ending threat. Nomad then went off to confront and eliminate Autumn and Jorvik Desperately attempted to get ahead of Nomads path and disrupt him and keep him from murdering the woman. Jorvik first attempted to give her all of his money and forcibly close her bakery stall and as she was pushed away started to walk off in a semi-confused but compliant manner having received more gold that day than a month of selling baked goods. Jorvik then took her Shawl and attempted to be Autumn but Nomad was not convinced by this ruse and carried on to confront Autumn, at this point Jorvik overpowered Autumn and stuffed her into the bag of holding and tried to flee from Nomad who then using his bow Nature's Oath made the bag of holding his current sworn enemy and attempted to destroy the bag. Jorvik caught the arrows shot at the bag and when the guards arrived up ended the bag of holding and fled pouring out Autumn on the city streets. Before Nomad could kill her however he was caught and arrested.   Meanwhile at Amberdune books, Cedjic pushed the issue of him knowing something was amiss and in order to not cause a scene met with Korvala the owner and manager of Amberdune books and they decided to talk more privately at an address provided by Korvala with Instructions on how to get there. Narrowly escaping guards dispatched for Jorvik and Cedjic they met up on the roofs of the homes near The Wide and determined that they needed to lay low and come up with a plan. Using his "City Smarts" Jorvik located an old beggar named Booker on the streets nearby that had his begging cup out and after bribing him a total of 1gp and 1cp got him to take them someplace safe. They ended up going down the road a ways away from the wide and to a sunken in location called: The Bogs where the poorer folks of silverwells in the Western part of the city reside. He took them to a run down bar called "The Wounded Rogue" where they were instructed to "Pay Compliments to the Chef". They entered the grungy and after taking a seat in the grimy disgusting smelling place Jorvik says the passphrase and are whisked away to a more luxurious version of the Wounded Rogue filled with plush and ample seating, and lovely harp music. They are given one drink on the house and Cedjic produces his instructions from Korvala on where to meet.    They now have two things on their plate:

  1. How are they getting Nomad-2 out of jail?
  2. When and how are they meeting Korvala?
