Session 2:Searching for the Upper Leg Bone (left) part 2 Report

General Summary

The Party consists of Leina, MelKovich, Athelstad, Paul Bunnions, Bronze Hatchling.   Heading North after the Upper Leg bone of Vol.    Day 1: They attempt to locate object, get a feeling it is to the right.. north east into the deeper woods around the river but too far to get a more exact location.   Day 2:  Heading NE in the light woods just before they head into the deeper woods they spot ahead; some eight Kobold's bearing spears in one hand, what looks like silver clubs at their sides, javelins in a quiver upon their backs.  One of them had a compass that it appeared to be following.  They were speaking in draconic which ment that nobody could understand it except the Bronze that nobody can communicate with.   The heroes hid their mounts behind trees and shrubbery's and asked the Bronze if he would see if they were friendly.   At this point the Kobolds were halfway across the clearing and had stopped for a moment and pulled out their silver clubs.. which were revealed to be flutes as they started playing a song.. that sounded familiar to the Lenia. and Athel thought he head it on the sidewheeler.    The bronze had flown up into the sun and was hovering using the light for shadows, when he thought they were done he bellowed out with his breath.. but it came out as a squeek.. not a roar..as he flew into their sight and the kobolds still had to repeat the refrain another time, so his timing was off...   the musicians sputtered to a stop.  Squeeking excitedly they are jumping around in what appears to be joy at seeing a real dragon.  never mind it was a hatchling not much bigger then themselves. It was a Dragon.. The songs were true.. they really DO exist.   After a couple of minutes the heroes are wondering whats going on.. five minutes pass.. then minutes later.. One of the Kobolds blows its flute and jumps waving his hands in the air.. yelling in common "we speakes dis tongue too, we am civilized. 'Glintkove' here told us why hes traveling with you and that your heading to that dwarves thats giving away camels.. we need a couple to get back to Avi Shai.       The Party decides to let the kobolds come with.   Even offering some of the hides they have collected for the kobolds to make some armor out of.   Day 3: They press deeper into the woods, coming to a rocky outcrop a couple dozen miles south of the river.  After closer examination it appears to be a ruin from the ancients in the time before time was recorded.  It was covered with plants and vines and a couple thousands years of decay and growth.  They thought they were entering into a cave.. It turned into an ancient ruin once they got past the dirt and such that had blown in over the years.   Following a long hallway they came to a three way fork.   Choosing to detect the location of the bones.. they know it is left almost 1000' away but not moving.   So they Choose right.   Inside a large chamber they find.. a Huge sized pair of Triceratops.    The ranger decides to try and speak with animals in an attempt to make communicate.   It worked!         It turns out that the Huge Triceratops's were actually each two that had been made two-in-one by the man in red robes who waves his hands around and said something to that they didnt understand.  next the Trikes know they are two-in-one and much to big to get out of the yummy moss chamber.      The heroes remembered that they had met those kobold bards.. perhaps one of them could reduce the size of the two-in-one triceratops and help guide them out of the chamber.      Back to the fork the party chooses to move to the center path.. still not the one that bones were done.  In the next chamber they found.. Another pair of Huge Trikes that after communication had also been twisted into two-in-ones by the red robed man with the other red robed men with.    Again they ask the kobolds to help.. The kobolds were confused.. asked the ranger if he was drunk or high because they Just did that about thirty minutes ago.. Kobolds even pointed to the two trikes outside munching on the blueberry bushes right there.    Athel explained that there was a second pair of Trikes.   Back to the fork the party choose to go towards the bones.   You would never believe it but they found a whole Four two-in-one trikes in the first of the chambers.   Going back and grabbing the last four of the kobold's to reduce these ones as well..   Paul Bunnions is keeping watch over a small pack of 8 two-in-one triceratops..   which means 16 triceratops once a means of separating them is researched.   Continuing on.  In the next chamber they see four humans with halberds and wearing the blood scarlet robes of Mage-Guards of the Universities butchering one trike.. that appears to have been made into a Sixteen-and-one Triceratops.    Mel uses some divine magic to distract two of the mage-guards.  Athel, the general, and Leina choose to attack the other two splitting the two apart. they are able to deal with them.  before the one of the others returns.. which all four of them make short work of.   Under the body of the dead trike.. they find a Tiefling Chaos-Mage who was crushed by it.   It had a few items of magic that were not destroyed with its death.   Catching their breath they heal up and move forwards. The smell of Urine has faded.. as they have moved past where the Trikes were trapped.  They know one Mage-Guard is ahead.. and a Tiefling mage, and bone fragment so proceed cautiously.    The final chamber is huge.. very open.. with a ramp leading to a raised platform... the main thing in the chamber is a large opened sarcophagus.   There is a Gnoll who is looking inside the sarcophagus.  one of the mage-guards is also ready defending the gnoll.   The Gnoll turns and snarls something in Gnollish.. broken common.   He chargest towards general chuck norris.. bellowing in rage that a human dare wield a sacred glaive of the Gnollish peoples.    In the course of the battle it is revealed that a minotaur snipper was observing from the overwatch.   The battle is fierce.. Mel half dies.   The Minotaur takes a shot hitting Athel to drop at the his feet doing no damage, but was aiming at Mel..   The others charge around the ramp and up there.. meanwhile athel fires multiple arrows hitting the minotaur in the back.  Lenia holds person on the minataur.    Turns out the minotaur was summoned from the abyss by the chaos mage, made into a native by the chaos magic and told to guard the leg bone.   When the mage dies the minotaur was freed of the mind compulsion.   The Minotaur thought that by destroying the bones he would seriously mess with the tieflings plans to summon vol to destroy the realm of attika.  Luckily he didnt pack enough firepowder into the musket to do more then just shoot the bonedust a few dozen feet.   ----They recruit the Minotaur to the Cause.

Missions/Quests Completed

Blood of Vol: Found Upper leg bone it was turned to dust.   Dwarves of the Mountain Ancestry: Found the final resting place of Farrin Durzak who died defending the halflings of maple.  A dwarven emperor is buried from from his people inside of an ancient ruin.  His descendants would be happy to know where he is interred.  He has requested that his Axe is returned to his descendants   Gave Ring of Swimming to the Hatchling, increasing his swim speed to 70' if he keeps it in place, it will merge into his scales as he grows.  It did increase his size some.   Eradication of the Civilized Gnolls because nobody can communicate: 1 more dead gnoll. (97/100 gnoll alive still)

Minotaur: Summon into this world and made into a native.   Tiefling Chaos-Mage: died fighting the undead down below Had the MasterKey to Vellar Kadrel that can open the whole of the mountain gate.   Chaos Mage-Guards: Were blood-red robes, armed with halberds.   Ruins of the Ancients:  Now a crypt for the Emperor Farrin.  Deep below dwell undead.. enemies of the tieflings and demons.. but friend of foe TBD.   Dinosaur, Tricertops: All told four these poor animals were encountered that had been magical altered by the chaos mage to merge two large ones into a single huge.   they were then too large to get out of the chambers.  befriended and shrunk and let out on the promise that they would get to feed and would try to help them as best they can to be able to not be two-in-one as it gets confusing.   One of the trikes had managed to kill five of the chaos mages guards before dieing to the other fours coordinated strikes.   Kobold musicians.   know and play the Song of the Sasquosh for L's project, It is the Hymn of the World Council..   Vol: Background -  she spent 1200 years as a LG Cleric-Mage Vol wasthe head of the earth united science/religion known as Scientology fighting in the space within the Sol System defeating all of the monsters and bringing light to the Darkness of the void.. finally clearing out all the Sol Crystal Sphere and making it safe for human settlement.   She proposed to chuck norris, chuck was in cold storage deep space ship so couldn't reply. he was going to travel to alpha centari and punch everything that could harm a human.     Chuck was reveled to be Cain.   Vol was revealed to be Lilith.   Bugbear: Elves make boots of Elvenkind from the hide of these bugbears.

Notes

Speak with Dead was done twice. Once to speak with Farrin Durzak. -the Dwarven Emperor Farrin died defending the halflings of Maple. Which used to lie near these ruins.  Farrin was burried here in 659 by gnomes and halflings who later died during the war of orcish hunger so the location was never told to his decendents.   -the Key to open all of Vellar Kadrel was enlayed into his sarcophagi cover.  it had been chipped out by the Chaos-Mage and taken down below when he went to do battle with the undead mages chanting a ritual below.  The drop off is hundreds, if not thousands of feet to the bottom. -They are free to take what will from him, he needs no material goods where hes at. -Return my axe to my decendents.  It is a Two handed dwarven waraxe.. a prototype named urgosh.  Tell them of my tomb perhaps they want or need my bones. -     Once to speak with Vol (Volustia) -The Left Half of the Torso lies somewhere in the Ioth Sands.  Her Children seek it. -The Left Lower Arm is within Vellar Kadrel with the Mountain Dwarves. -The left Hand remains hidden. -The left upper arm remains hidden.       Human mages thought made deal with Devil, it was demons to gain their magical powers which is why they became Tieflings.
