Return to Tabal Report
General Summary
Having left their spoils with a trustworthy person, the crew sets sail from Cutlass Anchorage; heading set for Tabal. A few days into their journey, Orion reappears on the ship looking more put together than his previous visit. He listens to how much money the crew lost in their attempt to enter Cutlass Anchorage, and orders them to return immediately. It's time to get that money back. The crew turns the ship around and sails back to the roadblock that the bandits have set up. Much like last time, Francheska Drake lands on their ship and demands the toll. Orion politely declines and, instead, demands she return the money she had swindled from the crew. After a brief exhange and a brief private side conversation, Francheska agrees to return most of the money, but she will keep what her and her crew have spent and enough to feed them. Orion agrees, and they proceed through the gate to take the quicker exit out. Before he leaves, Orion checks in on Aya and, upon seeing she has not found something to occupy her time other than inebriation, orders her to try new things with each crew member until she finds a new hobby. While he is walking around, some of the crew start to notice a slight limp to his step, but nobody drums up the courage to ask about it. After everything is settled Orion says his goodbyes, again, and the crew makes its way to Tabal... again. The crew spends much of the time on the way there drinking and laughing with each other, and, with fair weather and good skies, it's smooth sailing all the way there. That is, until they spot multiple ships sailing out for them just off the coast of Tabal. The ships' sails sport a eagle symbol that some people recognize as the Ivory Eagles. Rather than attacking the respected guild from Tabal, the crew decides not to resist. The Captain of the flag ship hails them and introduces himself as Captain Loukas. He explains that some merchants had washed ashore in Tabal about a month ago and had made a report of pirates sailing these waters with a flag that matched The Leviathan's. He further explained that the merchants declared some stolen goods, and Loukas wonderred if the crew might let them look around. Thinking the only stolen item was the massive ship they just left at Cutlass Anchorage, First Mate Aminah decides to let the foreign Captain walk about supervised. Captain Loukas agrees and steps aboard. He walks around the ship without a word until he has made his way all the way around. Only then does he begin describing the list of items that was reported stolen: Black armor with the ability to turn into wings, a red robe with a sun on the back, a purple whip, and various other items that obviously belonged to the crew of the Leviathan. He tells them that they will need to sail into harbor with him and come down to the police station where a court date would be decided on. Despite the protests of Niroch, the crew complies with these orders and recieves a court date of one month away. Before leaving, excited about the prospect of watching the pirates that screwed them over lose their case. The crew decides to make their way to the Shadow Knight's manor, but, along the way, are interrupted by a monkey begging for money on the streets. After playing with him and his owner, Benlo, for a bit Rohka gives the monkey a bit of gold and the crew moves on. When they arrive at the Shadow Knight's residence, they are told that the Knights have been in meeting for the entire day and turn around to head to the Knights' Office. They reach the office just as the Knights' meeting is adjourned. They see a new figure walk out wrapped in shadows along with all the familiar faces. The myterious figure comes up to the crew and shrinks down a bit as the shadows run away from the form. Once they shadows are all gone, the figure is easily recognizable as Zeke. They catch up for a bit before the Shadow Knight and he depart for his manor. Before leaving, the crew speaks with the Earth Knight and Rohka is interested in testing his mettle. He, the knight, and a couple of others split off to go spar with the knight while the rest of them head off with the Shadow knight. After Rohka defeats the Earth Knight's golem, the Knight presents him with a glowing stone pendant. While the Earth Knight is recovering from the match, the people with him discuss current news in Tabal and the Earth Knight mentions that he wishes the Shiver Maggots, a Tabal guild who acts more like bandits demanding protection money, would just stop prowling the area. The crew with him say their goodbyes and exit the arena to head for the Shadow Knight's residence once more and the whole crew meets back up. They all congradulate Rohka on defeating the Knight and offer to help Rohka take down the Shiver Maggot's guild town.
