Fakin' Ooze Report

General Summary

1490 DR - Winter - 22, Hammer (1) - Thay, The Doomvault  

• The Chosen begin scouring the ooze pits looking for more information, they ambush the wizards there, using their charmed one to sow confusion under the pretense of protection the doomvault from the escaped aboleth.
• After a tough fight, they retreat into the forest again, their charmed ally perishing to an ooze.  
• They take the break to don disguises, Huden using his absorbed soul to transform and gain knowledge, Xifor being disguised, and the other 3 dress as Thayan Warrior
• The crew licks their wounds and heads back in, talking their way past the next group, and sneaking past another instead of fighting.
• The Chosen proceed into a barracks, and move to pass through, but set off a trap on the walls that summons spectres that attack the party.  The Thayans in the room are aghast at them tripping the trap, but help them for a round until the Chosen resort to their typical attacks and one of them spots the Yuden fighting like an Aasimar.  
• The fight escalates but the party wipes out both the spectres and the thayans without alarming the other room (due to their machines grinding of pig corpses).
• The crew continues into an ancient pulpit where more undead are working on the oozes, and walk through without arousing suspicion.  
• They encounter another intelligent Wight guard who challenges them, but they talk him down and proceed, only to encounter a dead end they can't pass.  Traveling back alerts the Wight to their deception, but Huden and Xifor both cleverly tag team a lie about losing their glyph key, tricking the Wight and escaping back the way they came.
• They head south into a machine of black oozes, and are challenged by the head of the room, who quickly discovers their lie, but only so far as their feigned interest, and not their ruse of being Thayans.  They are escorted out of the room and take a huddle break to form a new plan.
