Chapter 1: New Friends, New Foes

General Summary

The Year is 5756 AGD, Sonasdag the 28th day of the month of Sumnar. War has erupted in the Empire of Sorvia when the Emperor and his extended family, all of whom held high ranking positions within the empire dissapeared one night without a trace. Causing war to errupt between and within the 6 kingdoms of the empire like never before. It is a land of chaos and confusion.   While riding on a refugee ship heading to the Dranon Islands a Centaur barbarian mercenary named Firenz Bojack announced he was looking for some work. While none of the refugees took much notice he did catch the eye of a charismatic halfing rogue Klak Bumf who began conversing with the centaur and took up his offer of hire after Firenz brandished his greataxe in a display of caution. Witnessing all of this a Tiefling Artificer named Asenzo Detira chimed in with a warning not to brandish such a weapon around traumitised refugees.   Bojack would notice some shify looking men with weapons brandished beneath cloaks. Suggesting that the halfing go over there and find out what they are doing. Using his swagger and charm Klak would get one of the guards to reveal that they were protecting a girl of great importance and warning him that the entire ship was in danger if "they" found them. As the guard talked to Klak and tried to get him to join his cause Firenze would spot a ship in the distance bearing a pirate flag. "PIRATES!!!!!" He shouted, throwing the entire ship into a frenzied panic with refugees screaming and jumping over board in a bid to escape. As the pirates got into attacking range Firenz would hurl insults and threats to no avail before getting into an attack stance, raging as the pirates leaped onto the ship to attack. Asenzo would assess that these were no ordinary pirates with their orginization, skill and the fact they were straight up killing instead of looting.   The trio would find themselves in the line of 6 vicious pirates who would proceed to attack them after Firenz shouted at them and charged in. Asenzo would hurl acid at them while Klak launched arrows and Firenz would hold off the bulk of them in as his rage turned into exhaustion from all the blows he was taking, and after killing one of the pirates with his hoof would be knocked down. Klak would continue raining arrows on them managing to kill a couple after their armor was weakened by Asenzos acid. Firenz seeing Asenzo taking the brunt of attacks now rose up and took revenge upon the pirate that knocked him down, cutting him down from behind and taking out the rest of the pirates along with Klak who was now defening himself with a great sword but not before Asenzo was knocked down and wounded.   Upon defeating the pirates and qucikly helping a wounded Asenzo another burly and large pirate captain would appear upon the ship, chastising his mens failures and taunting those still alive. And with a quck click of his finger a thunderbolt fell from the sky and struck the ship, cleaving it in firey halves. Firenz would use his quick thinking to cut down a mast of the ship and use it to hold onto as he hoisted the still injured Asenzo onto his back. As the ship sank into the river from the corner of his eye Klak would notice a hand reach on to the furthest part of the mast before a river wave enveloped them all.
