Session 4: Underwater Exploration
General Summary
The crew take to the sea in their submersibles. Diving down to the bottom, they make a quick scout of the perimeter but find nothing too unusual. The town that was here is now merely coral and seaweed covered ruins, just the barest hint of buildings showing in some places. However, they soon come to a broken topped tower that seems to have a few floors still possibly intact. They find what looks like it could be a possible entrance, and using the harpoons on the submersibles manage to wrench the doors open. Well, more like splinter them. Pippin losses control of his submersible and crashes into a hunk of rock and coral, but the small ship takes no damage, much to Pippin's relief. Piper takes a little exploratory swim into the building and as soon as he passes through the doorway drops to the ground. The building seems to have air inside. The crew get themselves inside, while Norrel hooks the submersibles together and waits with them in a hidden spot not far away. The crew begin to explore. The inside of the building looks untouched by time and water, a magical barrier protecting it from the sea pressing in on all sides. They come across many books, written in dwarven, that appear to contain records and accounts of trade dealings, and maps of various regions and possibly trade routes. Amethyst gets lost in reading through the history of her people, while the rest of the group, head up to the next level to see what else may be in here. They notice that the magical barrriers on this floor, while still intact and holding, are a bit weaker that those on the floor below. In one room they find a statue which they figure is some kind of good luck charm perhaps. In the next room is a strange sight indeed, A lectern in the centre of the room seems to have a quill which is writing all on its own. Scratching away at a book. The lectern is surrounded by some kind of invisible barrier which doesn't show up as magical. We leave our companions here scratching their heads in puzzlement.
