Session 17: Finding A lost Ship! Report

General Summary

Departing the planet of Marduk the CSS Shenanigan's head for Torpol in the subsector of Tlaiowaha. This subsector is controlled by the Aslan and the Tlaiowaha is the clan. This is not the clan seat of the clan but this one of the there pillars of power. Tiaiowaha Anchorage is the largest Aslan military base in the sector. This was the clan that took out the last of the Sindal empire when it bombed the planet of Drinax over trade Tariffs. Torpol it self is a water world with no land surface. The population lives on the ice caps at the north and south poles of the planet, or in huge stilt-supported platforms built in shallow water. Torpol is atrographically the most important world in the Torpol cluster, as it provides jump-2 access between the sindalian main(via Marduk) and the Aslan Hierate (via Drinax or Asim) as well as acting as a jump-2 link via Blue to Arunisilr or Exocet, and thence to Imperial space. Jump-4 vessels (Typically warships) usually transit to Torpol from Fist via Exocet. It receives far more interstellar traffic than Clarke or Blue, a factor that has heavily influenced its economic development. While the crew relaxed for 24 hours getting fuel, unloading freight and passengers. Captain Denniston could be heard crying about the cost of berthing and fuel. Vlad roaming and looking for droids over heard a group of men talking about leaving a loot container for good luck. Vlad wanting to possibly gain some leverage tried to take their picture. Unfortunately the three men spotted him and started raising a fuss over the situation with the local provost marshal intervening. Vlad with the three unknow people went to the security office where through a series of questions and facial recognition Vlad not only gained a 6000 credit reward for the apprehension of wanted pirates. This also secured a very important contact for the Shenanigan's if needed. The Shenanigans then left for Drinax arriving in the system picked up a unknown signal. Captain told Domic to continue to the planet of Drinax fearing a possible pirate trap. An hour later with Dr. Cannon at the comms picked up a SOS signal. This Captain Denniston could not ignore had and Domic set course for the signal putting the ship on battle stations. The Shenanigan's came upon a dead blown out imperial destroyer. The ship had many breaches form being involved in combat. With the crew remaining on alert ran scans for life signs. Dr. Cannon pick up no life signs and also was able to ID the ship as the ISS Dragon Fly. Captain Denniston set up to salvage the ship and get going. Captain seemed to very cold and callous towards the imperial ship with only intending to get the salvage and leave. Dr. Cannon on the other hand demanded that the ship be thoroughly searched. The ISS Dragon Fly was the ship that her husband commanded when he disappeared. Captain eventually gave in and the investigation was on. The computers were wiped clean with the exception of a encrypted message on the captains personal computer carefully hidden in his state room. Captain Lucas was able to ascertain that the gun batterie's has been sabotaged killing most of the gun crew. Morpheus was able to determine as names were inputted that 75 percent of the crew was dead. Dr. Cannon also realized that no officers were in those casualties.
