  • Runespeaker Bjorn Anarrsson
    Runespeaker Bjorn is a broad, massively built human with many winters behind him. His pale hair hides the streaks of grey which those less impressed tease him about. He is well traveled, thoughtful and patient.
  • Huscarl Einar Egilsson
    A broad shouldered mountain of a man. Serves under Jarl Fiona on the Leaping Drake. Sometimes rough and short tempered, but respected for his skill with an axe. Currently filling the recently vacated role of quartermaster.
  • Jarl Fiona Davidsdottir
    Jarl Fiona is the captain of the longship Leaping Drake. She takes the title of Jarl as she is a proven leader, but only among those in her service.
  • Karl Halfdan Dagfinn
    Slain. Halfdan made a name for himself by challenging any who disagreed with him to solo combat. In these duels he was exceptionally cruel. Known to have aspirations to break off and take up a chieftainship. Many disaffected warriors were promised places in his, as yet unestablished holdings. Many families who came to harm as a result of his duels sued for wereguild at the Althyng. Now impovershed, he took to the seas with the few that would still follow him. Finding a tract of farmable land, he began the process of establishing a settlement. Losing the race against winter, he returned to dueling as a stand in for hire, for those fearful of losing. The quick money he hoped for was enough. While searching for willing people to come to his new settlement, his ship was accosted by the Leaping Drake before he could enter the waters under the protection and governance of Earl Harold.
  • Earl Harald Svendsson
    Harald was the son of a Huscarl in the service of old King Knut. Long familiar with the machinations of the court and the Althyng, many looked to him for wisdom even before established as Jarl.

Session 4: A Warm Reception

A few days' downtime sorting out the longshouse, Nemora's new job with Birger and Kole's Watch duties brings the funeral of the two unfortunates the party discovered in the woods on their way from the shore to Haraldshold to this evening. Unsure of what social graces or requirements might be expected of them, at least Birger has completed the garb requested of him for Seh-k'r and Nemora.

Session 3: The Hangover

After spending an evening trying to unwind and connect with the local population by the generous application of local libations, the party awakens to pounding. Whether only in their heads or someone trying to break down their door, is unknown.

Session 2: House keeping

After departing the company of the Earl, the party follows their guide to the house which has been rented to them. Placed near the west well of Haraldshold among a few others very similar in size and design. They now have the remainder of the evening to explore their new home and the surrounding area.

Session 1: For mercy or kindness

After their sleep is interrupted by the appearance of a scout which Runspeaker Bjorn and Jarl Fiona parleyed with, the party is aware there is an odd, eggshapped greenish star overhead. Their sleep is uneasy and troubled under that greenish light. In the morning and freshly adorned with the style of the people of the area, the party makes its way towards Haroldshold. Only a few hours' march through the woods, but lingering flashes of a tentacled beast and cotton mouth plague them for a short time. After walking down a broad, spongy path in pine scented woods they see a large group approaching from the opposite direction.

Session 0.5: Wet behind the ears

After plummetting through the sky with the realization they just fell away from copies of themselves, life takes on a surreal feeling. A sudden bloody ship to ship battle, then limping the two boats to the nearest shore and shivering on shore with the other survivors. Used to the hot, dry climate of thier heavy gravity, irradiated desert homeworld they are completely unprepared for their new unexpected environment.


The Storm Witch Walks is a campaign set on the planet Urrth in the Bloeron system. An average sized world, a little far out in the habitible zone. Up until the last few generations it had been warm and temperate. Now, the great glaciers swell and begin thier slow, inexorable march. Summers are short, barely giving farmers enough time to raise crops. The aged tell tales from the before times. Urrth hadn't always been idyllic. They remind the younger of the old ways, of self worth, and honor. About how, even in the home of a bitter enemy, sanctuary could be granted when lost in the storms. They tell about betrayal at such moments, but also of grieviences forgiven. Of Brotherhood under adversity, and the unbroken strength of a people bending under the unforgiving winters.   Urrth is a Heroic setting which borrows heavily from Norse history but also from other harsh, cold climates such as Siberia and the North American Arctic. Urrth was the first planet in the system settled by an ancient progenitor race until it was decided that the climate of another planet was more amicable. They returned to Urrth when the ice ages subsided, and took residency elsewhere when they returned. Many are the ruins of ancient Manors, Palaces and Lyceum that speckle out of the way places. Some still glimmer with lights from windows. The brave or foolish that climb them to peer inside report tables set as for feasts, or great laboratories of bubbling flasks and fumes or observatories with great polished telescopes. All appearing as though their masters have merely stepped away.
