The Pāll-tanír is known as the world's most hostile environ, a continent of deserts with no end. It is harsh, arid, and merciless. What little life exists on the surface must fight tooth and claw day by day for survival and yet the boundless tenacity of people has allowed civilization to more than get by and thrive.
Despite all this, one must never forget that the Pāll-tanír has not been tamed. This is true, most of all, in the southeastern reaches of the continent. Here, even the desert sands shrink away from the great jungle that is the Shār. Merchants, monarchs, and mere men have entered the Shār in droves, each hoping to find what they need in its mysterious depths. Only the dying and the mad have ever returned.
There is no more thrilling place to go for one searching for the adventure of a lifetime.
