CD Issue 2: At the Feet of giants

General Summary

Fresh on the heels of their first battle, the Dissidents find themselves teleported to Terminal City - Monument Park, at the base of the monument to Tectonic. They meet with their missing teammate, Malware, who missed the battle running tactical ops.   The team faces a harsh review of the action by Shadowpack. Their time with The Darksiders is short, as they must quickly deliver Typhon and Linear to their contacts in the Resistance.   Our heroes are left trying to decide what to do with The Chemist and Miranda Nowak when a bright light flashes and an unknown Metabeing teleports in and grabs The Chemist, escaping with the unconscious villain. Left behind are a large group of Trust Terror Squad soldiers.   What would normally be fairly mundane foes, the soldiers begin exhibiting Metaforce powers infused by Helios. The powers take their toll though, horrifying the dissidents as one is blown into ash after breathing fire, and another is transformed into a tree. Siren decides to force a retreat, realizing that the team is in bad shape after their first battle. She teleports the group back to the Spiderweb.   In the spiderweb, Dr Nowak tells them about the Chemists work on the Helios drug, how she was an unwitting accomplice to that, and how she had him fired and arrested for illegal experimentation on human subjects. The Chemist returned though, kidnapping her, threatening her family if she didn't cooperate. He plans to use the drug to deploy super powered Criminal squads throughout Terminal City!   It is now up to the Dissidents to stop his evil plan!
