Session 69: Last two rooms
General Summary
Last two rooms! Day number… ehm… I don’t quite recall. But! We’re finally done with the temples in the inner sanctum of the vault! All the weird power-siphoning temple thingies are destroyed, and the people within them saved. We cleared one room quick enough, with myself, Voron and Aaldryn staying outside for most of the fight while Duldar and Valstrax went in to kick some undead and mage behinds, after being very sneaky and surprising the enemies inside. We didn’t really notice anything weird happening in this room, and we saved the half-elven lady in the temple. As is now our MO, we tied her up - for the safety of both us and herself! - and left her outside the Gatehouse with our other, ehm, temporary and not entirely voluntary guests. The next room was simple as well, although our sneaking in worked less well in this room than in the previous one. No matter, we all still managed just fine. The mage did get a damaging spell to hurt most of us unfortunately, but we hit him right back with our own power. Oh, and there was some creepy armor. We beat them back pretty easily, and as Valstrax destroyed the runes of the last temple, we heard an ominous rumbling. This temple-thingy had a snakeperson inside, a bit like Valstrax, just with the upper body being mostly human. Well, we took them outside as well, and started talking to our new friends! (We didn’t want to examine where the rumbling came from quite yet, we had to rest and figure out how we could help the poor captives first) The human we had saved earlier was named Kieran and he seemed rather unphased by what had happened to him. He gladly took our offer of staying at our camp for a bit to recover. The halfling was nice too, telling us stories upon stories of his remarkable luck. He also stayed in the camp for a bit. His name’s Curran Corvalin. The half-elf was less nice. I mean, I kinda understand, with us tying her up and all, but we had to! For everyone’s safety! Anyway, she also stayed for a bit to recover, but she didn’t seem happy about this at all. Lastly, the snake person - Valstrax told us they’re called ‘yuan-ti’ - seemed pretty upset Valstrax was traveling with us, since apparently there’s a bit of animosity between naga’s and yuan-ti. So that person just… turned into a snake and ran, or slithered, off! I tried telling them they were on a different world now, and that we would help them get home in the morning, but they were already gone… I hope they’re alright. I’ll keep in contact with them magically, for if they ever want to return home. So, now we’re in the camp, resting, and preparing for the next part of our journey! Isn’t this exciting!
