Session 50: An annoying skull room and an overwhelming majority

General Summary

Well, let's see what kind of golem maker we meet next... Next to the room we are currently in, there is a room where the view is obscured by some kind of mist. We don't know what is behind it, but at the same time we don't want to go through the bright room either, so after some hesitation we enter the room. As we enter we are pulled in by force and thrown out of a magical skull. The room is filled with six skulls all around and a black gate in the center, but that one is inactive. Without any visible exits we try to walk through one of the skulls, but it just throws us out from another, hurting us in the process. The Tiefling watches the black gate and it seems to charge up a bit when we try a few of the skulls, but the gate doesn't activate. Shooting arrows through the gates doesn't seem to do anything and when I turn into a bear to absorb some of the damage while going through the skulls, I just enter the hallway behind it. Too bad we do not have the means to turn everyone into animals and leave that way...   I then summon a bunch of blink dogs to activate the skulls and charge the gate, but that doesn't work either. So in the end we have to take the damage from the skulls ourselves and as we enter enough of the skulls, the black gate finally activates and we can go to the gate house. We immediately go back to the room next to the flesh golems and decide that going through the bright room is a better idea to reach the iron golems.   However, we find a room with a stone golem first. A few people are working on it and as soon as they see us they turn hostile and I send the blink dogs, which I had kept around, in to attack. The entrance of the room is again special though, as it gives everyone who enters an extra push. During the fight, I decide to stay outside. Even though I said it is fine to attack the dogs as they will disappear soon anyway, the Tiefling hesitates and decides to summon some elementals instead. The Dwarf then decides to join the fun and animates a few rock piles and suddenly we have an entire army inside the room. With this, the enemies fall quickly.   After the fight I enter the room and take some damage from the push of the gate and I lose control of my dogs, which disappear. After that we decide we need a long rest, which we want to take outside and try to go back, but the gate doesn't allow this. However the Tiefling has a trick: everyone but her goes into the portable hole and she will simply teleport us past the gate. It is a bit cramped and the air is limited within the hole, but as we are quick this is no problem and we are free to go outside and take our long rest.
