Session 66: Through the temples of 'nature'

General Summary

With the Drow dead, there was little reason to go back as planned and we decided to move on instead. Avoiding the effects of the ooze walls as much as possible we went for the south door and into the next room. The room was dimly lit and there were some sentient shadows in the room, but I managed to spot them and they were easily dispatched. There was also another set of pillars holding someone in a magic field, a female drow this time, but destroying the pillars did the trick again and she was freed. This time we didn't try to question her, but we simply tied her up so she couldn't kill herself and put her in a corner to bring back to camp later.   Next, I suggested to go further south and clear that section of the map first. The dwarf thought that I would like the nature in there as much as he hated it, but as I suspected it was all corrupted: the first room was filled with poison gas. That was no problem for the naga and me, but the dwarf couldn't handle it. The tiefling and elf were smarter and simply stayed outside. The necromancer and most undead in this room were easily taken care of, but the last one and the magic pillars in this room gave the naga so much trouble, that he killed and ate the orc caught inside the magic field after freeing him.   The next room had magic grass that tried to grip our feet as we ran through it and some will-o'-wisps to annoy us, but it was easily cleared. The female wood elf in the magic field was freed and put with the drow for later questioning.   The last room in this direction was very cold. Yetis, magic casters and the elf managed to get caught in one of their spells and went down. He is as whimsy as he looks! I got him back up and we finished this room as well, killing the undead locked in the magic field of this room.
