A Wedding at RoseHollow Report

General Summary

Session Update

It's a drizzly late winter morning, and your party joined a caravan heading through the Golden Hare Thicket to RoseHollow. Alistar, a wood-elf blood hunter set off through Frétoise, and Shadow the Tabaxi monk, set off his home in the Ascendant Enclave. Both, discovered a young halfling woman by the name of Nedyra in the Golden Hare Thicket.   The company arrives in RoseHollow on the 10th day of Aenarel, with the mid-year festival fast approaching, and travel during festival time unlucky and seen as an ill omen. With no caravans travelling, and the dock quickly emptying, the party is set to spend some time in the coastal city.   GoldenHare Thicket rests on the hills above the city as you enter the three of you are unfamiliar with cities the scope of Rosehollow. Young Nedyra and her pet frog Trixie are awestruck with the people and bustle of the city, gobsmacked as carts were pulled by beasts of burden, hawkers sold their wares, and people of all kinds ran about their day. The three of you found a notice board taken up with a large invitation announcing the wedding of Lord Merius, the ruler of Rosehollow to his new bride, Ember Rosefire.   Nedrya couldn't contain her excitement as she told the group that Ember is a member of the Fey courts, a real live Fae wedding in the material world. Jumping about and bursting with energy she begged Shadow and Ali to go to the wedding and with luck she might see some of her old Fey friends.   Shadow appeared nonplussed, and valiantly tried to pretend he was used to city life no matter how many dogs barked at him. Instead, he walked up to a passing couple and attempted a deception that failed as much as his meow.   Quickly enamoured with the city itself, the party continued deeper down street, Nedyra spied an overflowing basket of pink roses and plucked one to add her to hair. Shadow, meanwhile used it as a scratching post, only to be severely remonstrated by the halfling for uncouth behaviour.   Nedyra couldn't hold onto the anger for long as a group of children ran by playing with a top floating in the air between. She and Shadow ran over to play with it, with the monk balancing on top of it narrowly missing being struck by one of the other children. One of the older children gave Nedyra a hand learning the ropes, while Ali  went to the nearby bounty board to see what local jobs were available for those looking to make a few bits of coin.   Two jobs looks promising so he grabbed both and found a place to sit and discuss their options. A pub by the name of the Hearth and Pot offered a selection of sweet breads and other food items which the party sat down to enjoy while looking over the two jobs.   The first job was Wanted Dead for the theft of a sandwich, the bounty a 25gp. The second job was a bounty on a bandit Indigo Callan, for stealing from caravans travelling nearby, price 100gp with a 50gp for bringing in alive.   Shadow, bent on some whim to steal coin from the customers attempted and failed to take the purse of a minotaur sitting near the back of the pub. The minotaur agreed not to press further if the cat left quickly, which thankfully for all he did just that.   Leaving the pub the party went to the Grey Roses Guard House the local constabulary and spoke with the gnome at the front desk receiving a description and previous hangout information. Taking the trolley the three went down to the wharf and found the bar the guards mentioned and spoke with the bartender there. They were able to secure an extra bit of coin if they found Indigo and brought him to the bar first.   Realizing they needed manacles, Shadow decided to try his luck again and with a few very good rolls, managed to steal a set of manacles off of two of the dumbest guards the Grey Roses have ever hired.   After securing a promise the bartender would leave Indigo's face along they headed into the cheapsides to check out one of the known spots that Indigo used to frequent. They wandered into the dark dilapidated building. Nedrya tried to send her little friend Trixie into search but unfortunately Trixie wasn't much help. Alistar went upstairs to find someone trying to escape from the window.    Shadow, with his monk swiftness raced to the bed and sliced at the bandit injuring him. The ne'rdowell tried to get out of the window, fell and went unconscious.   The party raced downstairs to catch the bandit, and Nedrya picked his face up to check to see if this was the bandit they were in fact looking for. As luck would have it, it was indeed Indigo Callan, unconscious on the ground. Feeding him enough good berries to bring him back to consciousness, they slapped the manacles onto Indigo and took him first to the Crooked Cup, got their bonus money and are now heading to the Guards house in the Primrose district.
