Session 3 - Tomb of Blood Everflowing

General Summary

7 Desnus (May) 4725   Our brave adventurers faced a challenging situation as they divided the spoils from the infamous Green Dagger's hidden stash. Alfie Budd, the farmer cleric of Erastil, had already left with his share before the coin-counting festivities began. Determined to right this unintentional injustice, our heroes embarked on a noble quest to Alfie's modest farmstead to deliver his rightful portion of the liquidated loot.   Guided by the experienced Green Leaf, who had traversed more of Ustalav's countryside than a tumbleweed in a dust storm, they reached Alfie's homestead. There, they encountered two significant figures: Alfie's mother, Kasama, and a loyal farmhand and friend named Nainen. In a surprising twist, Kasama cast a gaze of faint recognition upon one of our heroes, Cal, though decades had passed since they last met. The party sought Alfie's aid with their mission, and Kasama graciously suggested he join them on their adventure.   Their journey continued to the residence of one Alistair Clancy, where they sought to identify a mysterious cairn charm in their possession. During this encounter, they met Kyzikos Silverhand, a former Pathfinder engaged in research while residing at Alistair's abode. Kyzikos guided them to meet the town's "smartest man," Alistair himself. He unveiled the charm's origin as the Tomb of Blood Everflowing, a place oddly favoured by cultists for its unconventional aesthetics. Although payment was expected, Alistair accepted it as a future favour.   The matter of transportation surfaced next. Hoping to secure dependable steeds from Boniface Halbert, the heroes were taken aback by his steep demand of a 75 golden pieces deposit per horse, a sum too rich for their adventurous hearts. They opted for the age-old mode of transport – walking.   As night descended, Alfie experienced a disquieting dream featuring zombies overrunning his farm. Though perturbed, he eventually brushed it aside, returning to peaceful slumber.   Skipping ahead to midday, our intrepid group reached the ominous tomb. It exuded an eerie atmosphere with blood oozing from wells and accumulating ominously in pools. Sarcophagi were scattered around, all emptied by past looters. The walls bore graffiti ranging from "Orcs smell bad" to "All praise Father Skinsaw," forming a grimly classic tomb aesthetic.   They placed the cairn charm into a wall's recess above a blood-filled pool in a stroke of inspiration or madness. This daring act revealed a secret doorway, leading them to follow the draining blood down a sinister staircase.   They were met at the staircase's base with a breathtaking sight: a cliff overlooking a lake of blood. Three zombies lurked nearby to heighten the eerie ambiance, their left eyes marked with an unsettling eight-pointed star etched down to the bone. Tike Myson, displaying his prowess in dispatching zombies, sent one tumbling into the crimson abyss. The remaining two struggled, but, as heroes do, the valiant group emerged triumphant.
