Storm King's Thunder

A Dungeons & Dragons 5e game In the world of Aryavaejha
| Full
Aryavaejha—hailed for millennia as the Land of the Venerable—now witnesses a massively, potentially irreparably devastating threat: the primaeval Daityas (or Giants) are continuously vacating their extraplanar sovereigns and rampaging throughout the Prime Material Plane. Seasoned and erudite arcanists indefatigably merge their collective consciousness with the pervasive Weave, in an attempt to discern the foul impetus for the Giants' invasion. Meanwhile, the Kushan-suta empires hurriedly conscript qualified citizens to supplement their standing armies and ameliorate their inadequate martial presence. Outside the imperial territories, the Adhya Prasandhi, or Confederacy of the Ancients, is forced to dissolve its eternal enmities with the Kushan-suta empires. For the sixth time in its vast, storied history, the entirety of Aryavaejha is united by a horrifyingly tangible danger: the violent demise of civilization.   Locally, citizens are plagued by indelible magical transmutations induced by the arcane radiation produced by the Giants' colossal airships. People are awakening to find themselves capable of strange, powerful demonstrations of magic; each is undeniably linked to the Giants, and each embodies a particular element—the afflicted are collectively identified as Daitya Jiva or the Giant-Born. A washerwoman suddenly immolates the clothes she cleans, while a barrister 150 miles away nearly concusses the presiding judge with gale winds when exclaiming the innocence of her client. Yet, the most incomprehensible transmutations are demonstrated by the Zaila Jiva: those ill-fated individuals forced to endure vile rituals conducted by Hill Giants infecting the host with the parasitic spirit of a deceased Hill Giant.   As chaos spreads, you must swiftly make a decision—is the Giants' threat extinguishable, or is this truly the end of Aryavaejha?
