Session 12: The Forest is Lovely, Dark, and Derp Report

General Summary

The party sets off from Cape Daft to continue on their way to Iolanthe and the Walled Reach, keeping their eyes out for a dragonborn woman who let them know that she might have a business opportunity for them a ways down the road. As they pass Odeen's Woods they begin to get the sense that something is wrong with the forest, and are attacked by phase spiders soon afterwards. Fending of the spiders, they come upon the camp of the dragonborn woma, Vumbanketh Yanys. She explains that she wants to build a coaching inn here, but the forest is incredibly hostile and things keep attacking. The explanation for this comes from a druid in camp, Ladak Lonemouse, who explains that he has been fighting with the needle lord trying to take over the forest for a year now and they are at a stalemate. Soon after the camp is assaulted by needle spawn and Ladak barely survives. The party decides to venture into the forest and destroy the needle lord after Yanys offers them a magical item as a reward. After journeying through the forest and encountering an old woman who may or may not be a hag, they reach the center of the forest and destroy the needle lord. When they return to camp, Yanys rewards them as promised with a magical musical instrument and with the forest pacified and the camp secure, they are able to take a long rest.
