When the party awakens from a fitful night of uncomfortable sleeping arangements and looming paranoia from a gravelly voice in the darkness of their minds, they find that Captain Frederick does not rise from his slumber. Soma-Rai mindlinks with him and pulls the rest of the party into his dreamland when she finds an ornate library.
They party investigates, discovering what appears to be a massive cathedral-like structure with layers upon layers of renovations and updates that seem to stretch back far into the past. They also find walls upon walls of paintings, tapestries, and various art all depicting Frederick in various scenes, holding back armies solo, riding a dragon before a storm, being knighted by a queen, wielding a glowing sword against an army of darkness and much more.
They also find a large, runic magical barrier blocking off the majority of the library.
Soma-Rai follows the sounds of quill on paper to an elevated cubicle, where Frederick himself sits scribing something in Celestial—and does not respond to any stimulus. Floating beside him is a staff that eventually begins to speak and pleads the party to allow Frederick to finish.
Because of Bengt's recent perusing through the Forgehammer Museum Directory with Frederick as the wizard was fervently looking up any information on a Beholder, the dwarf recognizes the Staff of Obrax and confesses that it has been siphoning the magic from Frederick's items to copy to itself and that the restless night prevented them from finishing stealing the power of Azzat's Longsword in time like normal.
Kayl eventually strikes a bargain with "Soo" and gets him to release Frederick for the morning, upon which everyone awakens back in the airlock.
