Session 08: Preparation & Infiltration

General Summary

• After scouting the area and sending Odila Vallos in to scout as much of the cave as she can, the party decides to rest up and tackle the goblins in the evening.

• A band of goblins exit the canyon and are ambushed by the party as they attempt to search out the nearby forest. Azzat Titanbane displays a use of his acid breath, but because he is injured, pleads with the party to recover the scale while he remains at the entrance to the canyon to stand guard.

• The party infiltrates the goblin camp by finding a natural cave side entrance. After dispatching the hive of Kruthik within, they come into a store room adjacent a common area.

• With Kayl and Frederick 's magic providing crowd-control, the group slays the hobgoblins and bugbears within the room easily, Odila and Soma-Rai getting multiple critical hits.

• Kayl discovers a lone hobgoblin in the barracks and enchants him to not attack. After disarming him, Soma-Rai communicates with him telepathically in search of the scale. He says that the "big boss" has the scale, a few rooms deeper into the cave.
