Tales of the Mana Wastes Session 0.0.0.0.1 Report
General Summary
Heroes are summoned to the City of Hope's Harbor on the eastern shore of the spellscar desert. They are chartered with exploring the wastes and maping them. Alkenstar is building three roads through the wastes and the party is to map and chart them.. two other parties are gathering in other cities to head west as well.
Day 1: Heading west.. these vehicles are strange.. one of the party is driving a Truck, the other is riding a clockwork horse. They cross the badlands finding signs of something hidden in the area they just couldnt locate it.. so decide to move on.
Day 2: West into more badlands, finding signs of a city hidden somewhere but with all the twists and cannyons they cannot locate it. Even spending a second day here they are unable to locate it. They found out later it is a hidden city of Trollkin Gearheads and bikers.
Day 4: Continue west and find a Mile high statue of the Archmage Nex facing towards the west holding an am out with a wand pointing into the distance.
Day 5: After the statue they found of all things.. a Forest filled with game animals. This is the future site of Shae's Hope.
Day 6: West again the forest continues.. filled with even more game. Noh and Shae decide to take a chance and go hunting. They creep around and sneak up on a herd of antelope's. The herd was 36 in number.. they decided to see how quickly they could reduce that number by a third and gather some meat and hides. in 48 seconds they managed to drop 12 and then four Elends, allowing the others to run away and survive under the watch of four Kudo's. They decide to spend the next day smoking the meat and rough curing the hides.
Day 7: Around midday they are attacked by two swarms of clockworks.. which ended up being a pile of brass and bronze scrap. Just after sunset they were attacked by strange hood looking creatures, something called an excutionerers hood they found out later. About this time they realized that they could adjust the truck to function as a smoker and continue driving while smoking the meat.
Day 8: being close to half dead they decide to head east returning to the tall statue of Nex they encounter a Tazelwyrm. a very tense minute both of them almost dying in the battle.. they track the wyrm back to its lair and find a cave with the bodies of four dead human explorers, all members of the pathfinder society - Sothis Lodge. One of them had a wand of cure moderate wounds with 24 charges remaining.. they healed themselfs up and decided to turn around again and head back west.
Day 9: passing through the forest they find that it contues into the oak woods, they gather 2t of samples and find more game animals.
Day 10: West find immense trees called Soarwood, very very very rare. They are as strong as Steel, but as light as balsa wood. they gather 4t. future location of soarwood city.
Day 11: West into an oak forest filled with game.
Day 12: west into a Birch forest fill with game.
Day 13: West into an old orchard.. overgrown but filled with sweet pearapples. they gather 1t of samples.
Day 14: West into a very dense overgrown forest. even with the truck it will take two days to push through it.
Day 15: Finally make it to the edge of the overgrown forest at nightfall.. and rest the night.
Day 16: Wake up to find a mile tall statue of Geb facing east towards the one of Nex also holding out a wand in his outstreatched arm overhead. a huge coal seam along one of the legs.
Day 17: They find some grassy hills with a very good site for a lead mine.
Day 18: Stony hills with a coal seam. They spot a number of Gyro-Cycles and a Trike, a number of creatures digging at the coal. they decide to ride by and not get too close. One of the creatures rides up to them with a white flag on his flame lance, trying to trade with them. They stop and trade. The Trollkin have a village to the east of here. Meat and hides are traded for some repairs and six flawed sapphires (worth 1k each..) the trollkin stuff everything into some large sacks.. including the huge pile of coal.
Day 19: west into more stony hills they fight a pair of phase spiders near a gyro-cycle and dead officer of alkenstar bearing a messengers sash. it was Ensign Willis. They recover his body, bike and still sealed package and head west towards alkenstar.
Day 20: West into stony hills again this time they fae off against a fachen and kill it.. with signs of hundreds more.. a settlement of these monsters is somewhere nearby.
Day 21: Into the badlands and over an old battlefield. Magical grasping hands reach up and try to grasp them.. but the horse and the truck are moving far to fast. They also encounter some strange flowers that grasped at magic and pulled it towards them.
Day 22: Arrive in Alkenstar City.
somehow they made it here four days earlier then projected.
marshal walker debriefs them, thanks them for returning the body of the ensign and for not opening the package.
each is granted the right to settle within the explored regions of the wastes. under the baronry of hopes harbor for the now.
they are also each granted a number of citizens and access to prefab numarian buildings.
