Session 2.0 - Search for Site C Report

General Summary

The party progressed north into the jungle and eventually found the area where the main army passed some six weeks ago. however, with some investigations by the ranger another smaller newer trail was found that showed only a few hundred persons carrying something heavy. They followed the trail but came upon some strangers.   the cleric Fasse, Nebuchadnezzar and Kamen met the strangers while Molli and Udo hid. The strangers are War Savants of the Sheild Order. This order provides neutral healing to any injured in a conflict. They determine they are escorting a group of injured and exhausted porters home to Tinena. They warn the party not to interfere. the parties pass each other without incident.   The party follows the main trail into the afternoon and then they find where they diverge, so they follow to the East-Northeast while the main army trail split southeast. The party follows this trail until the they are happened upon by 4 riders on raptors. They engage in combat. Udo casts entangling but the riders note it and charge around the affected area and Udo is hit with a blowgun that had paralyzing darts. Keiman charged and gored a rider. battle continued. Fasse ran up and healed Udo just as a rider closed for the kill. Soon Keiman was surrounded but he killed two riders and the other two decided to ride "to warn the others". this left Keiman to fight raptors. The orcs engaged allowing Keiman to charge after the fleeing riders. Nebuchadnezzar was able to shoot one fleeing rider, killing him. Keiman eliminated the other. The rest of the party worked together to slay the raptors.   after taking a short rest the party continued down the trail knowing that these riders though they didn't survive would be missed, but also where ever the base is it can't be more than a day away. Within the rider's belongings a rough map noting site C.   Following the spot smoke from an encampment and they get off the trail and move through the forest. Getting as close as the felt they could Molli climbs a tree to get a better look at the encampment. It is a large stockaded fort with guarded entrances. It has been put up quickly but orderly. There are at least 120 persons around the fort. They note a lot of them are probably porters who carried the device.   The party are able to locate the device as it is quite large. it consists of a 40' long tube, a pair of pylons and a hoop, it is all cabled together and leads to a 35 or 40' tall tower with a large platform on top they can't quite make out. They decide to spend a day to watch the camp and observe the movements of the patrols, guards, and comings and goings.   The party decides that Keiman can provide a distraction as he speaks the lizardfolk language. Molli works on forgeries of orders and a map, the idea being Keiman will pass himself off as a mercenary sent to protect the camp by 1 Gar Killer.  Meanwhile the rest of the party will try to get into camp and sabotage the device.
