16.3.4.7 Taking of the Tower
General Summary
An immense L-shaped table, carved of black walnut and polished until it gleams, serves as the centerpiece of this large circular chamber, surrounded by several chairs. Numerous arched windows look out over the surrounding countryside. Between the windows,a variety of maps, drawings, and diagrams have been tacked to the walls. A line of severed heads skewered upon long iron pikes runs around the perimeter of the room. Interspersed among the pikes are six large iron perches. To the west, a flight of stairs descends out of the room. On the opposite side of the chamber to the east, a second set of stairs curves upward along the wall. Zaxel lets loose a barrier of whirling gears filling the western half of the chamber harming the hill giant greatly but Surog is untouched. I remember to reload the rifle and dismount Luna, She prepares to leap up at the Rhuks as they swoop in. Adler and Daemon take ready. It will come down to the wire, who among us is able to act first. A volley of arrows tear into Surog and the Giant Ginnock, slaying the hill giant. a couple of bullets go into the Rhuks. The battle is very straightforwards. The Rhuks turn out to be clockwork devices. This large circular chamber is divided into two distinct areas. Great arched windows encircle the perimeter of the room, offering a panoramic view of the mountains and valley below. To the northwest stands a table and half a dozen chairs sized for giants. A curved flight of stairs descends along the northeast wall. To the southeast, a huge box bed filled with a pile of fresh straw covered with wool blankets and the furry pelt of a massive dire bear lies against one wall. Three coffers of polished stone stand near the bed. To the south is a massive stone tub filled with water, along with several huge water barrels. A second flight of stairs climbs along the southwest wall. Jooose taking the lead as a huge owl, with adler below him. climbing the stairs they head south of the wall of pipes. In the south they do battle with a pair of frost giant hunters and one of their dire polar bears slaying the three of them.. even though joose begs to spare the bear it is killed though it takes about half a minute the battle is succesful to the south. To the north however is a much different version of events. Varr'os and E'Luna attempt to sneak north to take a shot at the giants behind the wall. however they both couldnt be louder if they tried. Varr'os fires blanks as he forgot to reload the rifle. Luna braces for a charge by the second polar bear (they both miss each other) however the stone giant captain swings into varr'os sending him flying into the wall almost dead. Zaxel charges into battle swinging The Hammer. Daemon activates an invisibility sphere and moves close to heal V, Dredoc is vanishing and moving about the chamber also healing. The giant swings again crushing luna into the stone floor. Only by the combined healing of the others does she live. eternally grateful is the wolfess. With the combined might of the heros the Captain falls. Searching the chamber we find three stone coffers.
