Session 153: Retreating Shadows

General Summary

24th Sydenstar 836PD   The Unbroken decide to clear the lower level of the Tower in order to prevent Treacy calling on any reinforcements. Flying down to the Tower’s barracks, the party are soon sprung upon by Shadow Demons, a remaining Shadow Assassin and two former guards who been cursed into becoming Blades of the Whisper.   Raphael divinely smites down a Shadow Demon, whilst Simeon deals the killing blow on the other demon with his eldritch blasts. Zeni calls on the powers of her Sceptre of Wodensdottr to weaken the Shadows in a destructive wave of holy thunder, sundering the weakened Assassin. Arthur incapacitates and freezes to death one of the cursed Blade warriors. However, Orlando and Raphael are able to knock the other cursed being unconscious.   As the shadow threat retreats, the party move to the top of the Tower to counter the Prismatic Dome that shields it. The group work quickly to remove the layers of the dome, however by the time they dispel the last colour, they find the dome empty!   Treacy, self-proclaimed Shadow Sovereign and new Lock-Breaker, has retreated. In their minds, they hear a parting gloat “Vasselheim is but a taste of what’s to come, Unbroken. Although for Tal’Dorei’s sake, I hope I haven’t taken up too much of your time…”
