Session 159: The Chained Oblivion

General Summary

4th Fessuran 836PD   With the Shadow Storm now under allied control, the Unbroken press their advantage as they travel high in the cover of clouds to assault the Obsidian Fortress. Enjoying a Heroes Feast as they travel and taking their last moments together.    They dive from the skyship and land on top of the unguarded fortress, where the Aspect is seemingly waiting for them. As they travel through, each of them are plagued by twisted visions of possible futures that Tharizdun uses to torment them. But they remain resilient, and find themselves on another plane, the space between worlds- the void.    A figure of Shadow and Flame, the Aspect has fully taken over Karkematth. 2 Chained Giants and several Shadow Demons assault the party, as the Aspect progressively dispels the party's magical enhancements.    Simeon uses his Divine Intervention for the Moonweaver to temporarily strip the Aspect of his magical barrier, providing the opportunity for Ceri, Raph, Sabali and Orlando to attach their physical chains.    Zeni at great costs, sacrifices her connection to the Storm to bind Tharizdun with her chain.    Ceri smites down on the Aspect form to remove his regenerated protections so that Simeon and Arthur can land their respective Reverse Gate and Temporal Imprisonment spells.    With all the chains attached, Raph lands the killing blow with a Banishing Smite that discorporate the Aspect's form from this realm, to beyond even the reach of the Divine Gate. Trapping Tharizdun beyond time and space, freeing the world from his influence.    As the Aspect is banished, Sabali uses the Soul Flask to capture the remaining withered essence of Karkematth that acted as Tharizdun's mortal tether.    The Unbroken have Shackled the Oblivion and saved Exandria!
