Butler Brant Frift
A pale man, seemingly drained of all color by some unknown event, Frift works as the butler at the Whitblade Manor. -
Man-Of-All-Work Darcy Lazdi
Darcy is the jovial, bubbly manservant to the Whitblade family, constantly cracking jokes and sharing stories and advice. He too, is especially fond of Elzira, and of her father Ravi. A close friend of Theodore's, especially after his grandmother's passing. -
Maiden-At-Work Elzira Deepsun
A young half-elf, living with her father on the grounds of the Whitblade estate. She helps out around the manor in exchange for lessons from Theodore, Darcy, Mathias, and Melina, who are all quite fond of the child. -
Hélena Whitblade
A whip smart, grim young woman, a few years older than her brother Therodore. She wants nothing to do with the whole affair, preferring her horse and the open road to being cooped up in the musty workshop. -
Governess Marga Celdarne
A happily aging, compassionate older woman who holds the two Whitblade children in the highest esteem. She is the aged nanny to both of the Whitblade children, and a great friend to the late Seraphina Whitblade. -
Cook's Apprentice Mathias Langley
A charming and quick witted young man, Mathias works as an apprentice under the cook Ansley in the Whitblade kitchens. He has fast hands and an even faster mind, and puts all his energy to use in the kitchen or his other job as the man-of-all-work on the Whitblade estate. -
Maid-Of-All-Work Melina Sask
A nervous young woman, Melina Sask is employed as the maid of all work at the Whitblade estate. -
Lady Nadia Whitblade
A solemn, stern woman, the mother of Theodore and Heléna. She is eager to get rid of the ghost that is terrorizing her home. She has no great fondness for the dressmaking business, but feels that she must carry on her mother's legacy, lest it fall to ruin. She is attempting to train her daughter Hélena in the ways of dressmaking, but it seems of little use, as she is stubbornly against it. Still, Nadia believes that she wants the best for her children, and will do whatever possible to fulfil her plans -
Groundskeeper Ravi Deepsun
The father of Elzira and groundskeeper of the Whitblade estate, Ravi is a melancholy but kind man who loves his daughter fiercely and wants to do well by her. -
Horse Girl Samirah Stonesnow
A friendly, excitable young woman who helps Hélena keep her horse and plans away from her mother. -
Seraphina Whitblade
The matriarch of the Whitblade family, Seraphina was a kind and sharp-witted woman who loved fiercely and created happily. She was never close to her daughter, Nadia, as she had sent her away for many years in order for her to be educated in a way Seraphina never was. Though she tried to reconnect in her last years, Nadia was never receptive to her attempts at closeness, and Seraphina died without reaching the closeness she desired with her daughter. She was, however, very close to her grandchildren, Hélena and Theodore, and tried to succeed in raising them where she had failed with Nadia. -
Theodore Whitblade
A quiet man, barely past boyhood, who seems to feel most comfortable in the dark, tight spaces that make up his grandmother's workshop. He seems weary, tired from the constant disruptions of the ghost that now haunts the halls of his family home. Theodore was very close with his grandmother, to the point where the staff whisper about his knowing more about the trade than his mother Nadia does. However, after her death the family business transferred to his mother, and she has shut him out of his last connection to his grandmere.
