Session II: The Plot at Three Suns Lake Report

General Summary

The Caravan Heist Finale

As Dak, Aidran, Faenor, and Evergreen fend for their life having tripped the caravan's alarm - two new adventurers arrive on the scene. Accidentally getting involved in the fight, they join with the hopes of staying alive. The ragtag group eventually kills the remainder of the caravan, and ride off to give the paladin what he requests. In return, he tells them to visit the Priest of Malice at Three Suns Lake for help, as well as giving them a talisman as thanks.

On the Road

The journey, a two nights ride, proves eventful. The first night, Brandar and Ben's character is visited by Dassar, who explains that she will be watching them. THey awake to the creature haunting Aidran attacking the camp. As the party is nearly wiped out, the talisman shines with a pure, bright light. As it dims, the creature has disappeared, although the danger remains.  

The Priest of Malice

  The group eventually arrives to the town, and seeks out the priest of Malice. In exchange for coin, he provides a blessing he explains will protect them for a week. However, after receiving the blessing, he explains there is one catch: they must kill during that week to satiate Malice's bloodlust.  

The Bountie's Guild Missive - The Missing Orc Jregh

In a state of worry over the newfound requirement to kill, they go to the bounties guild at the local caravanserai, where Dak remembers a mission to help the local mayor find the missing tradesman Jregh. They decide on a name for the party - The Cursed Company, and accept the mission.   Making their way to the mayor's building, they learn that the orc dissapeared one day with no trace. They investigate both the office and his home, and find that Jregh was talking with a certain Iva about "vegetable powder". They come to learn that Jregh was creating counterfeit starrite and providing it to this man in exchange for significant amount of coin.   Coming up to a deadend, they go to the local tavern, where an orc by the name of Polemus provides a significant amount of coin in exchange for them rescuing Jregh, which he says is held captive by a cult underneath the nearby bathhouse. They go, coin in hand.   They are soon ambushed by smoke monsters in the bathhouse, which are easily defeated. Travelling underneath, they find the cult meeting, with Jregh tied up. Polemus reveals himself to be Ira, the leader of the Black cult - a group focused on reviving king eltius (See: Folding of the Trilean Paper). They defeat the group and rescue Jregh, who explains all that happened and is happy to ensure they are rewarded.
