Session 10: Stonerang Report
General Summary
The party arrives in Stonerang, a college town packed with would-be heroes and thrill-seekers set in the frozen south. They immediately split up (like you do) and go about different tasks: Sala to meet with the local law enforcement to warn them what was going on, and Jim to ... Get drunk. While in their respective meetings, the players are sudden set upon by materializing magen that plan to wreck their shop. These magen do absurd damage and really cause severe injury. Fortunately, for once the guards are ON the same side as our heroes and help repel this invasion of "wizards." Their interaction and sudden arrival lands them in a meeting with the queen, who demands to know everything going on with them. They tell her what they know (which isn't much) and the queen gives them some liberty to stay. She sets them up with rooms at the Inn, and tickets to dungeon ball. When they head to dungeon ball, they realize that Jim is actually a famous dungeon ball player from back in the day... The famous Jim "The Robber" Robbins (until he took an arrow to the knee). After a little bit of fandom and hero worship, Jim is given the chance to kickoff the game and do a bit of door busting. While Jim smashes things up down below, Elliott realizes that they may be perfectly positioned to be smashed up above. And he appears to see several magen materialize in the crowd and unleash hell on the box. This turns out to not be real (although Elliott gets to hear a suspicious (but familiar) hum in his mind while he observes this. The group re-gathers and heads back to their Inn, only to find the Flayer has beaten them to the punch, having killed the party's honor guard and spiked them to the walls. The party leaves to go inform the guards when they realize that a mass of refugees have arrived at the town... The survivors from the ruined town of Rhodes. Nima was found with them.
