Mission Details:
Based on the information from Mr. Chan, we concluded the encrypted files in his possession are related to the criminal organization we were tracking from the Pearl River Delta. We believe that these files had incriminating information on the organization and its personnel. The information was to be held in escrow by Mr. Chan by one Mr. Ho Qian, who had ties to the old Ah Kong triad in Singapore. Mr. Chan correctly decided to turn this information to the PSB. This was confirmed as we met with Capt. Long. She said the files contain compromising information, including financial records, but she needed more time to decode the files. We left the van but were ambushed by a sniper from a nearby roof. My aide's tablet, which contained a copy of some of the decoded files, was specifically targeted and destroyed, but the driver managed to reach the SUV and deploy a smoke screen to cover our entry into the car. Two bureau security cars escorted us at high speed from the parking lot, but we were ambushed by an augmented woman at the exit. She took out the lead car with grenades, and that was when we heard and felt the massive explosion in the parking lot which destroyed the Digital Security van and lab. As we tried to move down the highway, another explosion toppled our vehicle and I was knocked out. We later learned that the sniper immobilized the other security car as well. Capt. Long and her team were killed in the parking lot explosion, and the datacube was destroyed as well. I have debriefed the PSB separately on what information were relayed in the brief interview with her. Mr. Chan has been detained by the PSB, and I understand that Certis wants him released to their custody for their own investigation.
Three Found Dead in Understories Shooting
Published August 6, 2049 Three bodies were recovered by Temasek SCDF earlier today in the Understories. Each was killed by a gunshot wound to the back of the head, with no signs of struggle. Certis officials later identified the men as *names withheld until notification of next of kin*, and confirmed that each had ties to the now-defunct criminal organization known as the Ah Kongs. While an investigation is ongoing, Certis officials have flagged the crime as possibly gang-related in nature. Citizens with information about the case are urged to contact Certis at their hotline.
