Session 7: Draconic Frenzy Report
General Summary
Victory at the Docks
The party faced the river drakes in a brutal ambush near the docks. Despite being caught off guard, they managed to push through, dealing swift justice to the creatures that had been terrorizing Rivermire. With the threat temporarily subdued, we regrouped, intent on finding out more about the cause of these attacks.
Allies in Rivermire
Our next move was to gather information. The party spoke with several key figures around town—dockworkers, tradespeople, and local council members—all sharing their fears and frustrations over the river’s silence and the wyverns that had begun to plague the region. This wasn’t just a matter of beasts roaming the mountains; something larger was at play.
It was then that we encountered Ilora Windrider, an eccentric elf druid with extensive knowledge of wyverns. Her connection to nature was evident, and she seemed to share our determination to find the root of these disturbances. She agreed to guide us up into the mountains where she believed a wyvern nest was hidden. With her expertise and our combined strength, we set off.
The Journey to the Wyvern Nest
The path was treacherous, winding steeply through rocky terrain and surrounded by dark, jagged cliffs. Ilora led us with remarkable ease, pointing out tracks, nests, and signs of recent activity. We felt we were getting close; the tension in the air was palpable, and every shadow seemed to hint at movement. The deeper we traveled, the more it became clear that we were approaching a breeding ground.
Battle at the Nest
Finally, we reached the wyvern nest, a vast, rocky expanse littered with remnants of past battles and the bones of unfortunate travelers. Before we could begin strategizing, we were attacked. Wyverns descended from above, their cries echoing off the cliffs, diving at us with claws and teeth bared.
The fight was fierce, and the party moved as one, dispatching the wyverns with precision. But as we struck down the last of them, a new threat emerged. A Flame Drake by the name of Toa’ssalket descended from the sky, its scales glimmering in hues of red and orange, its presence alone enough to shake even our bravest.
Toa’ssalket was no ordinary foe. With bursts of flame and ferocious attacks, the drake outmatched us at every turn, dodging our strikes and retaliating with devastating swipes. Despite our best efforts, the drake’s power was overwhelming. One by one, we fell under its assault. The world grew dark, the fiery glow of Toa’ssalket’s scales fading as unconsciousness took us.
