Session 6: the tower Report

General Summary

Rand Bluecastle met Craic the druid at the the Royal Garden Inn and the two shared tales over lunch. The common room was filled by merchants and guards from a set of caravans from Saltmarsh, so the two shared lunch in the back garden. Half-way through the meal a sheep ran up with a spell scroll in its mouth and chased by dogs, a half-orc and two humans. Not your normal lunch.   Craic read the scroll which allowed him to speak to the sheep who was, in truth, a polymorphed wizard. His former apprentice had turned him so and sent the half-orc and others after him. The adventurers took up the sheep's cause, dispatched his pursuers and ventured to his tower in the northeastern part of the city.   The tower was heavily guarded, but the two, and sheep, were able to climb the walls with the aid of the druid turning into a snake and throwing a rope over the wall. The adventurers entered the upper stories of the tower and were attacked by a bed-cum-dragon creature, perhaps some kind of polymorph. The apprentice was also found in a lower room and he ran up the stairs, lept upon the bed, and the adventurers were attacked by a dragon-bed riding wizard's apprentice--not a salubrious state of affairs.   By use of a flying spell magic necklace both Rand and Craic were able to defeat the apprentice. Craic used a found wand on the ne'er-do-well to turn the wizard back from a sheep into his human form, but he instead transformed  into a Gibber Mouther. Only the arrival of the city guard saved us all.
