08 One Mess After Another

General Summary

As the three members of the Party reached Namys' home, they immediately started talking about how they screwed up and blaming each other. Elzador recommends that they could go take out the Curseveil and fix whatever mess they created over there.   Suddenly they hear a loud thump, as a young street urchin emerges from one of Namys' cupboards. He introduces himself as Adorabel and offers to help them escape from the crown. He is in the Company of Jularette, and tells them about it's leader, Steelbearde. He then takes them to The Broken Tap .   When they get there, Adorabel takes them downstairs, where they meet the infamous Steelbearde. She lets them stay in her underground area, in a single room. Belladonna, however, spends the night in Steelbearde's room.   In the morning, Adorabel brings Steelbearde a flyer containing the images and bounties of the party members, to which she says that it would be enough to pay off his debt. Elzador asks Adorabel to bring him some elfnip.   As the party is upstairs in the main tavern, getting breakfast, Elzador sees his brother, Elias, come in to the tavern. They have a conversation, in which Elias mentiones their mother multiple times, which confuses Elzador. Elza accuses him of experimenting on servants with necromancy. His brother says that their father spreads a lot of lies inside the family.   Elzador mentiones that he was also banished, due to gambling away a family artifact. At the mention of this, the older brother starts acting differently. Elzador offers to get them some drinks, slipping Truth Serum into his brother's cup. He now has no choice but to tell the truth.   He was banished because his beliefs were different from the family's, he thought the family should help others with their wealth, but their parents felt like they had earned the money the had. So he stole from the Petlynn treasury and gave the money away to the needy. Their father was furious after finding out about this and banished him, telling the rest of the family lies about dabbling in Necromancy.   Elza starts asking his brother about his own banishment, to which the brother answers that he never thought that would happen, since he was such a mommy's boy.   "I still want to know, do you have any clues as to where the heirloom might be."
"Yes, I do know where the heirloom is, my dear brother. I'm the one who won it from you."   Elias tells Elzador about how his father made them torture servants as children. Elzador, however, due to his meeting with the Curseveil, does not remember this. And thus, he punches his brother. Or, well, he attempts to. His brother dodges all attacks, and urges him to cool down.   Around this time, Adorabel gets back and realizes that the fugitives are about to escape the Broken Tap. He starts yelling for backup, as the party starts running from the scene. Chip had gone home a bit earlier, so it was only Belladonna and Elzador escaping from the Company of Jularette.   They use some illusion magic to get away and run back to the only safe place they know of - Namys' home. Specifically, the hidden bunker below it.
