Fae Group Session VIII Report

General Summary

The Lost and Found Entertain Nightfell

• The Lost and Found fight monsters to entertain Nightfell Aldercrown and his Midnight Court in return for Elvari and a piece of the Crown of Truth. They are forced to battle a Bulette, Feywild Hippogriff, a corrupted Stag Centaur, and an angered Actaeon. Elvari managed to leave the room Nicu was keeping him in and joined the fight along with Grimshaw halfway through. The creatures increased in difficulty as the rounds go on, but the party managed to win.
• Luran nearly died from one of the monster's attacks, but was saved before he could be finished off.
• The party thanked Grimshaw for his help, who asked them to make sure Elvari didn't kill himself (or get into situations that would kill him). He then leaves once more. Elvari then explained what happened to him after he was abducted.

Elvari Wakes Up in the Feydark

• Elvari wakes up in a very fancy room within the Feydark after being abducted by Nicu. The last thing he remembered was following a glowing object to a portal in a field until something knocked him out from behind.
• While snooping through the room, Elvari finds a set of keys on an end table and a shining Pearl of Power in a large dusty bookshelf.
• Nicu enters the room and introduces himself as a distant family member connected to Soren. He finds Elvari strange because he's not terrified of being kidnapped and separated from his friends in a room he doesn't recognize. Elvari says it happens all the time and he can easily summon his brother, Grimshaw. Elvari also says only two or three of the party are ones he'd call "friends," then insults Nicu for "not doing his research before kidnapping people." Nicu says that he does know Elvari is a vampire, and that he is a dhampyr. Elvari doesn't find it very impressive and asks what he wants from him.
• Nicu throws a dagger at Elvari, pinning his shoulder to the bed with hit. Elvari laughs through the entire thing--finding Nicu fun to mess with. Nicu says he's survived Elvari manages to survive the dagger's poison. He asks what Soren wants the Crown of Truth for, but Elvari says he doesn't know and calls Nicu an idiot. Nicu doesn't believe him and demands to know more. Elvari continues to annoy him after explaining how he came to be in this world. Nicu sighs and says Soren sent a "complete suicidal idiot who is no help to him" before suggesting the possibility of torturing him as a way to hurt Soren. Elvari finds the idea exciting--baffling Nicu.
• Nicu casts Silence on Elvari so he can no longer speak. He summons a Bone Devil that appears behind Elvari, but the vampire simply calls the Fiend cute and tries to pet it. Nicu orders the Bone Devil to attack Elvari--once again entertaining Elvari to the point of laughter. The Bone Devil causes Elvari to be knocked out from its attacks.
• As Nicu is trying to figure out what would bother Soren the most, Grimshaw appears in the room and slams him into the wall. Grimshaw didn't want to be involved, but says Soren would be on his ass if he didn't. Nicu makes fun of Grimshaw by calling him a babysitter. The two start fighting for a moment, with Grimshaw on the winning side, until Nicu claims to get bored and decides to leave. He says to tell Elvari he hopes he enjoys what his friends are going through because of him.
• Grimshaw gives Elvari a healing potion so he regains consciousness. Elvari says he was having fun. Grimshaw says he was in the middle of work when he suddenly got a call from Soren saying he could sense Elvari was dying. Grimshaw claims he only helped because he had to, then leaves. Elvari is then free to leave the room.

The Lost and Found Get Their First Crown Piece

• After the fighting was over, Nightfell clapped for the party and threw them his piece of the Crown of Truth. Andrew grabbed the piece and became possessed by the crown's curse of greed. Elvari asked Luran to use his Transporter/Summoner magic to telepathically ask Soren about what they should do. Soren told them Flower would know how to fix what's wrong with Andrew. While they were living in the Celestial Court, Flower heard about the curse placed on the Crown of Truth. Flower uses Remove Curse on Andrew. Elvari is then affected by the Crown's cursed aura, but Flower quickly used Remove Curse on him as well.
• Elvari tried to contact Soren, but failed. Flower prayed and managed to ask Soren to speak to Elvari. Soren teleported Elvari to his room in The World In-Between, where Elvari asked him to take the piece of the Crown of Truth for safekeeping. Elvari then told him about Nicu. Soren sighed and explained that Nicu is actually Ojordaal, the God of War--the very same god he thought he had sense on Alethe. The form Elvari met him in was his mortal disguise form. He also explained that Elvari is technically his adoptive "cousin" in a sense.
• Ojordaal was created from the Goddess of Vengeance and the God of Judgement, who works for Soren. Soren also mentioned that Ojordaal prefers to emotionally torture his enemies before finishing them off rather than torture them physically. He usually has other people do that for him.
• Soren told Elvari to return to the Summer Fae Court and continue on his quest to find the next pieces.
• Soren confirmed the god who gave Elvari the Sun Ring was Amarus, who he finds annoying. Amarus suddenly appeared at the perfect moment, so Soren frantically sent Elvari back to the others.
• Nightfell Aldercrown then sends the party back to the Summer Fae Court just as he promised.

THE LOST AND FOUND RETURN TO THE SUMMER FAE COURT

• The Lost and Found are sent back to the Summer Fae Court by Nightfell Aldercrown. They were gone for approximately a day from the Summer Fae Court due to time differences between planes and when teleporting. They arrive not too far from the town of Woodcliff.
