SESSION 1 TWIB Part 2: REVOLUTION Report

General Summary

EMPIRE GROUP:

Doc, JFK, Lucius, etc have all just made it into the Winter Fae Court after finding one of the portals from the Feywild Forest in Nyxvanus with the help of an old witch named Opal. At first, the woman was suspicious of them after believing they were some of the Empire’s soldiers currently trying to find their way into the Court. However, she held off from killing them long enough to hear them out after her pet Frostfur immediately got attached to Lexus. Lexus and Doc quickly revealed that they needed to talk to the Queen of Winter ASAP, and show the emblem JFK got from the King of Sylvia to prove he’s an ambassador.   Once Opal showed them a portal they could use, the party ended up on the far northern outskirts of the Winter Court. It took 2 weeks of hiking and barely scraping by food-wise to finally make it to the capital: Bethanalore. Doc let Cassia borrow his shape-changing winter boots while traveling.   Doc, JFK, the NPCs and spectral Leo (that only Doc and Lucius can see/hear) had just walked through the city gates after trekking up the mountain bridge, and started to search for any buildings that looked like they could be helpful to meet the Queen. They ended up finding the Administration District due to the flags & their emblems flying in the air. Although there were guard towers posted all around the city, the Administration District was in very poor condition compared to the rest of the capital--except for a few buildings here and there, like a mansion with a family crest on it (which still wasnt in the best of shape, but not terrible).   They ran into a man named ATM (Atom/Adam) being mugged and nearly stabbed to death on the street as they were passing by. JFK took off after the mugger and caught him after the criminal ran into another Winter/Celestial Fae who helped stop him. The Fae's friend, a half-Orc/half-Winter Fae named Diotris "Tris" picked up the criminal--revealing him to be a teen boy. After Doc finally arrived and threatened him to stop, the boy gave back the gold he stole from ATM and ran off crying. Tris said this is a common occurance, and that the other Fae with her was named Cornelian "Nelian/Nelly," & that his noble house was the one who technically ruled over the Administration District. However, due to court politics he didnt want to get into, the district was left underfunded and in disrepair, with a lot of crime.   Doc & the others met back up with ATM in the townhall, who helped process their paperwork to meet the Queen. After 5 hours of waiting, they would be able to see her.

ASPHUR:

  After a long and arduous journey searching for the person or being who had been destroying the crops she was hired to protect in the Autumn Court, she made it all the way to the Queen of Winter’s ice palace. After requesting to speak with the Queen herself, the guards relayed her name & job title (Bounty Hunter and...Field Protector) to the head Clerk of the Court. Asphur was lucky the Queen had been granting commoners an audience with her frequently–although she were surprised to learn the old Queen had been replaced by her granddaughter.   When the massive ice doors covered in runes finally opened, Asphur was led into the royal audience chamber, which held an enormous throne made of–-you guessed it–-ice. A woman with black hair, blue eyes, and a magitech prosthesis sat upon the throne, while several other Fae stood around her–likely guards, advisors, and the most powerful nobles of the court.   After talking to the Queen, Asphur realized there wasn't really much she could do about her mission/problem, so she offered to help with the wartime efforts. The Queen was needing a helping hand with growing crops and training soldiers. While this talk was happening, Leo was watching the conversation in his spectral form--when suddenly, an odd creature made of moss teleported into the room in a flash of light. The Queen and her guards eventually escourted the creature named Fable out, as it seemed that he was lost while searching for the person who killed his Master/Mentor.   Once that was finished, Doc & the others were finally able to meet with the Queen.  

EMPIRE GROUP:

  Despite what Lucius advised, Doc decided to be completely upfront and truthful with the Queen about the fact that he was once the head commander of the Elysian army--until he realized how corrupt the Emperor truly was, and after they had brutually killed his best friend. He also revealed that Cassia was actually Emperor Titus's daughter--the princess.   This wasn't easy for Queen Charlotte to accept, as the Empire had killed many Fae in the past--especially Winter Fae during the previous war--so it wouldn't be easy for her to accept them as allies, even if they had come with JFK from Sylvia. She ended up having them put under house arrest for 3 days to sus them out and see if they would reveal themselves to have ulterior motives outside of asking for alliance/aid, but they stayed in the house obediently. Even after Storm spoke with Doc on the 2nd day, Storm thought he appeared honest, and believed him to be a good person.
