Session 5, 6, 7, 8: Day of Beginnings Indeed

General Summary

The Day of Beginnings festival had drawn to a close with a speech from King Looyan Abadar. In it, the king decreed that all slaves of the Kingdom of Salamandrae now belonged to the crown, and would be purchased from their owners at fair price. They would then be paid through taxes to the kingdom a fair wage, and on the advent of the second year, they would be set free. In addition, slavery would be outlawed in favor of government jobs with fair wages and working conditions.   The decree caused an uproar, though the turmoil was short lived as the villiage was attacked by a contingent of the mechanized animals seen before. The adventurers managed to defent the eastern flank of the town from an incursion of mechs armed with explosives, while the main forces battled in The Town Square. Civilian casulties were kept to a minimum, though most of the kings guard had been wiped out, in addition to the represenatives of the Sapphire Republic and The Indigo League.   A colossal tabaxi, made from the same golden metal moved in on the town, with Feng Karaktoth on its shoulder. It magically amplified Feng's demand to give up the king and avoid further bloodshed. Quickly thinking, Kol Sokhur disguised himself magically as the king, and successfully tricked Feng into capturing him instead. To discourage anyone from following, Feng had the Colossus fire upon the mayor's mansion, destroying it utterly.   In the aftermath, the town was forced to put out several fires with the help of the adventurers who had escaped prior to the colossus attack. They met back up with Kendry Ridgepot, Azzakh Xephyrbahnor, King Looyan Abadar, and Saphronia Zayne after helping. The ensuing conversation offered the group a job. Seek out the source of these mechanized beasts and report back. The group was given 50 gold to outfit themselves for a long journey and to ensure their loyalty.   Kol was eventually figured out by Feng, and after reconciling, he was offered to see what The Rebellion had found in The Mists surrounding Jurong. He was also given a hint of 'Her Children'.   Cordelia Selene reflected on the potential of the crystals the group found in the drawing room. After being pulled form her thoughts, she joined Deeq 'Blue Eyes' Rulook, and Tahar in a salvage mission to recover a black box from The Winds of Colour after its destruction at the hands of the sea monster.   Kuyuk and first mate went to get Kuyuk's fish smoked, where they went to the Burning Chemist. There they met Axelus Shaw, the owner. He lit the fish on fire and sprinkled some salt on it for the low price of ten copper. Kuyuk happily paid for the service in anticipation of his gift for Izzak Brennemen
