Created : 31st August 2008 Render Engine : Vue 7 Notes : The one technical "innovation" I was playing with in this image was displacement mapping. The ground is a flat terrain with one of the preset corroded metals set as the texture but then with the bump mapping changed to displacement mapping. I found this gave a pleasingly irregular surface over which I could create a shallow sea. Render times in preview were not too bad but did go up a lot for the final image. I also spent a fair amount of time tweaking the spectral atmosphere to give me the colour balance I was looking for. No real post work on this image at all.
