In -4536 the forces of the Dynasty stormed the capital of the Traiphotian Empire. The defending Traiphotians initially mistook them for an allied Kurth army and opened the gates, by the time they realised it was too late. No one knows for certain why the Dynasty set the city alight, of if it was even intentional but this event is seen as the end of the Traiphotian Empire.
This painting was made by John Tararron in -4378 to depict the event of the Sacking of Traitin. Tararron lived in the city itself and made many such paintings depicting his home.
This painting is one of very few which depict this pivital event in Traiphotian history as it soon became pro-Dynasty after the war and the sacking was rarely discussed or depicted in the centeries after to maintian the Dynasty's good image in the region.
