Public Articles not being accessable

I have set most of my articles and folders as "public." However, my friend is having a hard time getting access to these articles and folders, recieving the "Multipass" screen claiming that the article is "private." My friend has access to the article after I gave his subscriber group access to the article, but it still implies that the articles and folders are still private.

Open article or folder.
