Mention system suggested article list not working in Timeline Event Description

When creating a description in an event of a Timeline, pasting an article link works fine. When trying to bring up the suggestd artcle list, by typing @ and at least 3 characters, nothing happens.

Steps to Reproduce

Edit an event in a Timeline -> In the description field, try to bring up a suggested article list by typing @ and at least 3 characters

This isn't a feature (yet). The event description field in the new interface does not have a an editor / toolbar. Use CTRL+K to open the search and get the article mentions quickly.
