Timeline start date fails to store if no number is in the field

In a timeline in timescale mode the setting Year to start timeline on can't be empty or a - while editing it as it fails the request. This then causes the "Something went wrong!!" blocker, which forces a reload. It should just not attempt to save while the field is empty or has just a minus sign.   Additionally the name of the field is confusing. It gives the impression that this defines the start of the timeline and can't have numbers before it.

Steps to Reproduce

1. Open a timeline in timescale mode.
2. Open the settings of the timeline.
3. Remove the number in the Year to start Timeline on field.
4. Says user hash timed out and forces a reload.
